A New Digital Divide
Today on the 5: It's tough to listen to any tech shows right now without hearing some degree of evangelization about how great AI tools are. As I've paid attention to the hottest thing in tech blow up, what's becoming clear is that cost and utility is what may keep these tools from being truly transformative, at least for most people.

The Kids Are Allright
Today on the 5: I've had my complaints over the years about how people are generally apathetic and selfish. I still do, but recently there have been some signs that maybe some people are less self-absorbed than they got credit for.

Sole Survivor Retro Review
Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched a horror film from 1984 titled Sole Survivor. I'd never heard about it beyond some comparisons to the later Final Destination films, so I wasn't expecting much. Once I got to the end of it, I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

TikTok, I Barely Knew Ye
Today on the 5: I found a bit of irony in the fact that only a few weeks after I started trying to use TikTok, the United States passed a law that will try to ban it. I can't I agree with the potential ban, but I can tell you for sure the platform itself is sure trying to ban me from using it!

Conversations about life the universe and everything else.
Been listening for awhile and this show has become like comfort food. It’s almost like 3 podcasts in 1. There are the weekday quick 5 minute topics and the main show on Friday. Maybe once a month a special guest show sprinkled in. If you’d like to listen to two besties take deep dives into the most random stuff: comics, fiction, sci-fi, cyberpunk, horror, b-movies, technology, philosophy, video games, current topics, forgotten movies and more. You’ll come away each week with some sort of recommendations for entertainment.
A thinking man's podcast
Despite oblique reference to contemporary popular art and media, the Ozone Nightmare is, in essence, an exercise in reinterpretation and actualization of the cultural forms and cliches. A contemplative, didactic approach to intersectionality and the problem of placelessness in the post-post-modern world. Original? More often than not, if sounds uttered have any place to be called original. Timely? Most certainly not; if you are bothered by trend setting, remember that history has ended 20 years ago. In short - necessary listening for any true admirer of Korzybski.
A Podcast About Anything and Everything, Always!
This podcast is one of my absolute favorites and has been for almost a decade. Lando & Joe are two of the most down to earth nerds on this planet. They entertain and bewilder simply through their weekly discussion while offering interesting points of view on movies, television, gaming, and other topics from a deeply creative perspective.
There is something I find really interesting about this podcast. Unlike many others, this one feels so authentic. At its very core, it just consists of two friends talking once a week and a quick five minute episode every weekday. However, while it might seems simplistic, they delve into a variety of topics that range from philisophical to gaming. You never know what you're going to get each day in your podcast feed. Also, if you like Red Letter Media's serious discussion on movies and television, you will like this podcast as it is very similar.
On another note, Joe gave me some personal advice on comics to consider reading since I haven't ever gotten into them before. This was over 7 years ago and I still remember it as it meant a lot to me. It helped me get through some hard times and I don't think they know just how much I appreciated it.
Please give their podcast a try if you haven't before. You might get hooked like me.
