Kicking of our series 2 of the “Platforms 4 Future” podcast with a chemical industry powerhouse and dinosaur - BASF. It’s the world leading chemical company with about 110.000 employees worldwide, 10% of them within R&D department spending 2 billion on innovation each year. But even for such a big giant, tackling sustainability is a too big task and you need to align even more players to create change.

Together with Alessandro Pistillo, Head of Digital Strategic Projects, we explore how such a traditional company can use it’s footprint in the market to lay the foundation for a more sustainable collaboration among all the players in the ecosystem.

Alessandro started it’s career 20 years ago and went through different jobs within BASF, which gave him a lot of insights into all facets of the value chain and chemical industry. In the last two years he is part of the Corporate Strategy Department driving digital innovation projects.
