Deconstruction with your Partner w/ Danny Cortez
One of the most frequently asked questions I’ve gotten over the years is, “Has your husband deconstructed with you and, if so, how?” Today, I’m finally going to take some time to address this. We’re going to veer off topic from our mental health series and dive into marriage and other partnerships.
Self Help for the Parent w/ Glenn Doyle
The best parenting is not done in the direction of our children. It’s actually done in the direction of our own selves. This is why I think it is so important to talk about mental health and inner work here on the podcast.
Race & Inclusion with American Girl w/ Deanna Singh
Our girls deserve to know about this world that they live in. They deserve to know about the things that impact them. This is why I love all that American Girl is doing right now to reach girls in a way that is signifying to them.
Mild At Heart: Deconstructing Purity Culture in Men w/ Bradley Onishi
Because of a whole host of systemic issues, the parenting space is mostly populated with women. In other words, mothers are the primary parenting influencers. Of course, there are several fantastic dad voices out there. I’m constantly on a mission to seek them out and am always on the lookout for anyone talking about deconstructing toxic masculinity.
How to Religious Trauma Proof Your Children
This week, I have a great bonus episode for you. Last week, I hosted a two-day webinar on parenting after religious trauma, a topic that you all know is very dear to my heart. We all had such a great time in the webinar and, afterwards, lots of you asked me about a replay.
Mental Health Series - Intersection with Social Injustice w/ Dr. Han Ren
For most of us, mental health feels like a very individualized issue. However, have you ever stopped to think about how your mental health intersects with the world at large and the social injustice you are seeing in it?
Parenting with empathy and people skills
I truly enjoy listening to this podcast. I’m so grateful to hear these conversations that provide a backbone for my choices as a parent. There’s not one or a few right ways to parent. This podcast shows us how to get to know ourselves and our children so we can be emotionally present to create a safe space for us to thrive.
Intersectionally progressive faith
Full disclosure - I'm a guest on one of the episodes.
Cindy works hard to boost voices from marginalized and under-represented groups. She keeps her focus on how we can raise our children with acceptance and gentleness as fully loved humans. She sets a great example for parents, educators, and faith leaders, and for the kids who will soon step into these roles.
I’ve never felt more seen in my life
Like many post-evangelicals, the deconstruction process of my faith has been lonely, guilt-inducing, and isolating. It is so hard to peel off layers of your faith that have been with you for so long and feel like home, even though you know in your heart it’s wrong. Within the first few minutes of listening to Cindy’s podcast, I was moved to tears in finding someone who was able to put my feelings into words. She has introduced me to a community, faith leaders—a whole movement of people living out progressive Christianity. I’m so so thankful for Cindy’s voice. I feel hopeful about Christianity for the first time in a long time. Cindy, I can never thank you enough for the work that you do. I’ve shared your podcast with everyone I know. You’re a gift to us all.
