Compared to the pre-Judy days, the newshour is a shadow of its former self, but still worthwhile But please, PLEASE replace the Brooks / Capehart team or at least rotate in some other voices!! I'm really tired of hearing the same old perspectives, and hearing Mr Capehart's mouth engage well before his brain does He may be great as a writer, but he is NOT great as a commentator Amna and Geoff are settling well ; I like the dual anchor strategy but please stop saying "thank you for your insights" every time you interview someone !! It gets really old quickly : variety is the spice of life!

I had high hopes when I started listening before the November, but within a few days I realized how deep this network is in the clutch of propagandists, just like most other mainstream media entirely controlled and maybe even funded by the Blue brigade. Goodbye, PBS.

PBS Newshour is not perfect. They have made mistakes in terms of getting the facts straight, although it’s important to remember that this was only twice. There is a general bias that leans left, which is not a bad thing for me. However, they often interview conservative thinkers and politicians. With that said, News hour is my favorite news program. I look forward to listening or watching almost daily. This is due in no small part to the amazing hosts and journalists. Dave is very engaging yet centered and Amna has conviction. They balance each other out perfectly. I also enjoy the weekend hosts like John Yang. My favorite reporter on the show is Ms. Lopez. Overall, it’s a great show. It’s my favorite, but remember to always consume multiple sources of information. I always listen or watch the news hour but I also read a lot of news from various sources.

I listen to the Newhour as no one really covers int’l news like they do and I like the depth of coverage. Unfortunately, your October 23, 2024 episode was disappointing. We expect news not politicized hearsay. Your team and the producers should be ashamed. Here is the opening from the transcript of that episode: “Good evening, I'm Geoff Bennett. Amna Nawaz is away. On the News Hour tonight, Donald Trump's longest-serving Chief of Staff speaks out about the former president's authoritarian tendencies and praise of Adolf Hitler.” I encourage everyone to listen to the first 5:30 of the October 23, 2024 episode (or the whole episode if you have time) and make up your own mind. All I ask is that you remain objective when you listen regardless of who you favor in the election. In a world of other important newsworthy topics, covering speculative hearsay likening a presidential candidate to Hitler — exactly two weeks before the election — was irresponsible. How is what you did not illegal given the abuse of trust especially this close to the election? Amna picked a good night to be “away”.
