    The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) previewing No. 7 USC women's basketball's showdown with No. 4 Connecticut and breaking down the last week of action at the Galen Center where the Women of Troy earned their third 50+ point victory and the USC men went 2-0 with a pair of blowout victories. Also special guest USC women's head coach Lindsay Gottlieb joins the show to chat about the upcoming Elite Eight rematch with Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies and discuss where the Trojans have shown improvements since losing a marquee matchup against Notre Dame. She also talks about how sophomore sensation JuJu Watkins has improved her game in certain areas that UConn tried to attack last season and how Watkins, Kiki Iriafen and the rest of the Trojans are finding ways to complement each other's game on both the offensive and defensive ends. Shotgun and Connor also look at where the men and women's programs stand as they finish up their non-conference schedules with the Women of Troy playing in Hartford, Conn. against the Huskies and the USC men closing out their non-conference schedule with a Sunday matchup against Southern.     In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about the latest roster and coaching staff movement with the NCAA Transfer Portal opening last week and player movement happening at record rates. The biggest portal news for USC happened on Tuesday with the Branch Brothers announcing they would be the latest Trojans to transfer. Wide receiver Zachariah Branch and safety Zion Branch both were slated to play major roles on this team in 2025, but neither will be wearing Cardinal and Gold going forward after they put their names in the NCAA Transfer Portal. With Zachariah's departure, all four five-star players recruited by Lincoln Riley from the 2022 and 2023 classes have now left the program: Branch, cornerback Domani Jackson, wide receiver Duce Robinson and quarterback Malachi Nelson. USC will also be on the market to hire a new offensive line coach and offensive coordinator with Josh Henson departing to join Barry Odom at Purdue. Henson will be the offensive coordinator for the Boilermakers but unlike his role at USC, he will be the primary play caller at Purdue. The guys talk about Riley's decision to hire from within, promoting tight ends coach Zach Hanson to be the Trojans new offensive line coach. They also discuss the other players that hit the portal and some of the candidates to fill the open linebacker coaching spot. Also special guest USC men's assistant coach Will Conroy joins the show to chat about returning to Seattle to take on the school where he set the career assists record and coached at for nine years before taking the job with the Trojans this offseason. Conroy talks about coaching under Eric Musselman and why the coaching staff chose to switch things up in practice after suffering back-to-back losses in the Acrisure Series Thanksgiving week. He also gives a scouting report on new USC four-star signee Jerry Easter. Shotgun and Connor look at where the men and women's programs stand after each picked up its first Big Ten conference win and preview the upcoming week of action at the Galen Center.     Helium Boys Podcast: Duce Robinson and USC’s portal departures, Christmas cookie rankings

    Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return behind the microphones for another episode of the Helium Boys Podcast, a serious non-serious USC football podcast. The Helium Boys are back to break down the changing Trojans roster following the December early signing period and the first two days of the NCAA transfer portal being open. The episode opens with the Helium Boys staple 'Two-Minute Drill' that features Chris having to rein Shotgun in after he goes on a wild tangent before the timer ever starts. Chris and Shotgun then dive into USC's roller coaster Signing Day that saw the Trojans sign Jahkeem Stewart and flip Alex Graham from Colorado, but lose a pair of linebackers with Jadon Perlotte flipping to Tennessee and Madden Faraimo signing with Notre Dame. The podcasters then dive into the first two days of entrants into the NCAA transfer portal from USC with 12 players entering their names. Chris and Shotgun break down the future impact of each of those entrants' departures. After a break, the podcast duo answer your mailbag questions discussing culture building in the transfer portal era and how they would attack the transfer portal if they were a current player. There are also questions about USC's general manager hire that has still not been made. The episode concludes with Chris quizzing Shotgun with some Take It or Leave Its about the Trojans and then having him do a blind ranking of Christmas cookies, which leads to some vehement arguments.     Trojans 2025 Early Signing Day Class plus Matt Entz leaves for Fresno State

    In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio on the first day of the 2025 Early Signing Period, talking about the Trojans 2025 class that included one huge commitment from a position of need and several late misses including a local four-star linebacker that flipped to a major rival. The guys talk about all of the activity from Wednesday morning and what head coach Lincoln Riley had to say during his signing day presser on campus. They also discuss the breaking news that linebackers coach Matt Entz is leaving his post to become the new head coach at Fresno State. Entz wasn't expected to be on campus long after winning multiple national championships as a head coach at the FCS level, and he departs for the Bulldogs to take a crack at being an FBS head coach. The guys talk about the impact Entz has had during his one season on campus and how his departure played a role on signing day. The NCAA Transfer Portal opens on Monday, so Ryan and Connor talk about some of the names that have announced their intensions to transfer early, including quarterback Miller Moss, and some of the position groups they feel the Trojans need to go after once the portal opens.
