As relatable as it is complex

Just found this podcast through my partner, who’s very much into all things regenerative agriculture and permaculture. I’ve grown accustomed to tuning out much of the podcasts she listens to, but this one really stood out, probably because of the host’s diligence in attending to the subtle ways capitalist logic has infected various other modes of ecological thinking and practice. Unlike so many of the ecologically focused podcasts I’ve (over)heard, Ellis is always keenly aware of the fact that maybe—just maybe—nonhumans have their own purposes and perhaps don’t exist to serve human functions, that their instrumental value to humans doesn’t determine their intrinsic value. On top of all this, she manages to keep otherwise inaccessible topics highly relatable and interesting. Deeply grateful for this great work.

Excellent Analysis! Important work!

Just started listening, super fascinating and absolutely love the work! Everyone should listen, we dont have time to mess around when it comes to ecology. Lets not just focus on getting rid of capitalism, but think of grassroots ways to move forward. This show helps immensely!

I love Becky’s infectious (but realistic) positivity and hopefulness for a better world beyond “conventional” agriculture, ecological disconnection, and the injustices of capitalism. This podcast has more than anything inspired me to look for ways to act locally to try to act as a crack in the ice. Thank you!
