Pushing the Pile: A CBS Sports NFL Podcast with Kyle Long & Mike Renner

I’m not sure why the ratings are so low for this show. This is my favorite football podcast easily. Question for Kyle: If you could have a podcast with 3 other O linemen talking about your time in the game, who would they be? I would want to hear from Joe Thomas and Orlando Pace.

Bring back Pick Six! How lame to ditch a long running podcast without saying a word to your loyal listeners. This podcast is dry. I tried to give it a chance. Moving on.

CBS’ Pick Six NFL podcast had plenty of flaws, it wasn’t buttoned up, sure. The thing it had was authenticity. Will and the Super Friends brought a fun and unique perspective to the weeks slate of games. It was a fun convo with friends. In the football content landscape it’s hard to stand out, Pick Six embraced what it was. To abandon that and replace it with a stiff and boring sports podcast is sadly just another example of programming not being in touch with its audience. Ultimately CBS doesn’t care and that’s apparent.

I really tried to give this show a chance before I wrote this. Man, I really like Kyle long as a life long bear fan but he just can’t podcast. If this was supposed to replace the picks six pod it missed horribly. Not even close to a “picks/gambling” show. Brinson brought life to the pod and the actual NFL news and debate was much more vibrant. Not on board with this new one.
