A podcast about movies and the movies that inspired them. A good movie is the result of a large number of people both in front of and behind the camera combining to create a piece of art… But what about the movies that came before that inspired those filmmakers to make the movie? On Piecing It Together we figure out what the clear (and not so clear) influences were that make up the movies we love.

Caught up with the Brittany Runs a Marathon episode

David is one to watch...or to listen to. He's super insightful and down to earth. His opinions and even his voice seem comfortable, like a friend you never knew you had. The ""pieces"" concept is so awesome, love the different aspects he and his various cohosts pull out of the movie by relating the film in question to other movies, something we do naturally all the time. A Clever, Tight, Fun Podcast

There are plenty of movie podcasts that just review films. This takes a different angle and looks at what media has either influenced a film or is related in some way. It’s not an easy idea to pull off. Could easily be dull. But David Rosen is a very knowledgeable and funny guy (join his FB group. Wonderful group of people). All art is influenced by what came before it so it makes sense to explore unending chain reaction. The podcast also avoids one of my least favorite things: random endless chatter before getting to the topic. I don’t need 4 hours and details on what you’re drinking, wearing, inside jokes etc. My Favorite Murder and The Movies That Made Me pull this off because there is personality and they funnel into the topic naturally and quickly. P. I. T. has plenty of personality. Varied guests with different viewpoints and angles. And it usually wraps up in an hour. They’re all business without sacrificing character and fun. I like these guys a lot and I enjoy this podcast. I am still working my way through the back catalog. It’s good stuff.

What a Piece

Piecing It Together, you had me at hello! The podcast reminds me of the time I ate my weight at Godfather's Pizza - or the time Michael Jackson came to my house to use the bathroom (ok, so Michael Jackson didn't come to my house to use the bathroom...but his sister did), or like the time I saved all those old people from that nursing home fire. It's like Doc always says, if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything, great scott (I know, this is heavy). It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. If you can’t handle the truth, you’re going to need a bigger boat, because if you build it, he will come. Hasta la vista, baby.
