-
Josh (KI6NAZ) of the Ham Radio Crash Course YouTube channel, and his wife Leah (KN6NWZ), talk about suburban life raising two boys in Southern California with a ham radio and preparedness twist in this podcast. Content includes the Ham Radio Minute where Josh gives a short ham radio tip, they read reviews and emails from listeners, share a drink review, Leah takes on practice exam questions for ham radio licensing exams while Josh tries to explain them to her, and they dive into a longer ham radio topic. A segment about suburban preparedness was also recently added.

Customer Reviews
Finally I found it
I had been studying for my Ham tech off and on for a year and a half. I was working in IT at the time and couldn’t find the brain power to study. This February I started a new job and decided to really go for it. I drive for a living now and as I studied I was just hoping for a good radio themed podcast. Last Tuesday I stumbled onto the hrcc discord and podcast after thrusting myself headfirst down a ravine of a radio rabbit hole.
This podcast is everything I had hoped for.
(I thoroughly especially the movie segment.)
This ham radio sphere is a cacophony of information but this podcast finds a way to hold on to the humanity involved.
Huge thank you to Josh and Leah for producing this.
I have my own podcast and YouTube channel directed towards helping nonprofit’s tell their story. I know how difficult and time consuming all of this is but you truly are helping people, advancing this community, and entertaining us along the way!
P.s. just passed my ham tech yesterday! Heather said I should send a letter! I settled with a review! 🤣
Great podcast for many reason!
Ham tech talk without geekdom! This is a lifestyle podcast that talks about ham radio as a tool in life, not tech wiz show. Leah and Josh weave a lot of stuff into 3 hours with humor and positive talk.
If you want 100% tech, watch Josh’s YouTube shows.
Entertaining and Educational
I may only have one leg, but I have two ears and I use them to listen to this podcast every week as soon as I see it download. Jedediah and Leah’s banter is always entertaining and I have learned a great deal through listening to the back catalog of episodes. Highly recommend for anyone looking to be part of a ham radio community, or just interested in radio and/or emergency preparedness.
