  1. Meet Project : Constellation

    01/26/2020

    Meet Project : Constellation

Project : Constellation is Santiago Silva and Christina Rosebrough. They're an acoustic-folk-rock-pop (and more) duo from Grand Forks North Dakota that's full of inspiration and personality. Their songs are influenced anywhere from old Irish Folk music to modern day punk. They've been racking up the miles the last couple of years playing venues far and wide and making new fans. They even had a tour this last summer in Georgia (and we don't mean the state, we mean the country)! We are so thankful we had the opportunity to sit down with them and chat. We hope you have as much fun listening to this episode as we did recording it. If their fun personalities don't have you convinced to check out one of their shows, we hope their track "Closed Doors" does! There were so many more things we wanted to cover, but we left plenty of opportunity for another episode in the future.  You can learn more about Project : Constellation at the links below! https://www.facebook.com/projectconstellation/ https://projectconstellation.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_tuSozgEZ7oqoSknvVHztQ/videos Twitter: ProjectConstel1 Instagram @Projectconstellationtheband and of course you can find us at: http://www.tedandalicemiller.com/ https://www.facebook.com/tedmillermusic/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPSRJcNh-cdHkDvjX8N_hQg intagram @ted_and_alice_miller Please share, rate and review...it helps us get this thing going further, and as always thank you for your support!!

  2. Meet Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band

    08/11/2019

Meet Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band

Wow! This was the first podcast we've gone into a little "Star Struck"! You not only get a conversation with the Rev. Peyton, but Washboard "Breezy" Peyton and Maxwell Senteney also joined in on the fun. How do you go from the being the fan to being the interviewer? Have fun finding out the answer to that question with us. We talk some things music and LOTS about fishing.  Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has built its reputation the long, slow, hard way. After 12 years of playing as many as 300 shows each year, Rev. Peyton, the world’s foremost country blues finger-style picker, along with the biggest little band in the country has pieced together one of the most dedicated followings out there.  With all the power of a freight train, the Big Damn Band is known for its live shows. Rev. Peyton delivers guitar pyrotechnics the old fashioned way — ten fingers, a 6 string and an amp cranked at full tilt. In the country blues style, he plays the bass with his thumb, while picking the lead with his fingers at the same time. When he lifts the guitar behind his head to play there’s nothing but skill and 16 gauge nickel strings to make the sounds coming out of the speakers. Beside him on stage are just two other people. His wife, “Washboard” Breezy Peyton playing with all the nuance and percussive power of a New Orleans drum line, and keeping the train moving is Max Senteney on a lean drum kit including a 5 gallon maple syrup bucket. Together they play Peyton’s wildman country blues that’s as much ZZ Top as it is Bukka White. The 6th Meridian Hops Farm show blew us away and we can't wait to see them again. If you haven't checked out a show you need to do it!!! Seriously!!!! We've included the link to their website. You can find everything Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band related there...including their own podcast! Special thanks to these guys for taking the time out of their busy schedule to sit down with us  http://www.bigdamnband.com/   https://www.facebook.com/6thMeridianHops/   http://www.tedandalicemiller.com/

Meet Heath Johnson host of The Heath Bar Podcast and a pretty funny dude

A few weeks back when we were in Rapid City playing a couple of gigs, we had the opportunity to sit down with Heath Johnson of the Heath Bar Podcast. We did back to back recordings (interviewing the interviewer) and had a blast! You'll really want to listen to them both...we promise! Heath Johnson is an Americana Country songwriter from Spearfish, SD as well as the host of his own podcast called The Heath Bar. He has the gift for conversation and is a really funny guy. We couldn't help but to warm up to him instantly, and It didn't take us long to realize how dedicated he is to helping others.  He organizes the South Dakota Songwriters group and activities around the Black Hills area and puts together songwriters rounds for other local artists.  Along with his solo shows, he is also the lead in an Americana Honky Tonk band named The Ruthless West and a proud new dad! We hope you enjoy listening to this episode and his as much as we enjoyed capturing them. As a side note, sitting down with Heath was extra special for a few reasons. He's awesome (of course), his podcast is part of the inspiration for ours, and this was our first pod on the go...meaning we're portable baby! Watch out podcasting world!!!! Meet Lil Red & The Medicated Moose

We had the opportunity to sit down with Lil Red and the Medicated Moose (also known as Tiffany & Bryan Jurries) and talk all things music and some things not music. These two vibrant beings are not slowing down anytime soon! Their passion for music and each other shines through in every aspect,  and we think your going to fall in love with them as much as we did 3  In their words,  "Lil Red and the Medicated Moose Band is the story about how two awkward, bullied kids found each other and fell in love. They both also shared a love for writing, music, and creativity. Through and with each other they create on a whole new level. Watch as they try to escape the life that they are "supposed" to have and make some amazing things together".  Bryan has also started his own Podcast called "The World Community". Join this community that is looking to be a positive force on the internet affected world. With the goal in mind to shine some light on positive news stories, tell the listeners about things that Bryan loves, and let the listeners know about people in the community that need our help, this will surely be a great one to add to your podcast player! Meet James Dean

We're happy to have the opportunity to share this conversation with all of you. We had the pleasure of meeting James Dean this last year at an open mic here in Yankton. It was the first time we'd heard him play and it was NOT what we expected. James uses looping to create an amazing vibrational soundscape that takes the listener on a musical journey. It starts out with a single instrument and with the use of musical loops being superimposed on one another, taken in and out, and improvised and composed upon with rhythm and melodies, it builds into a complete symphony of sound. It's like painting with notes. In James' own words, " The growth of a musical composition in this form denies instant gratification and rather invites the listener on a gradual journey to fruition. As a tiny seed grows and blossoms into maturity. We couldn't have said it any better!  Take a listen and learn about how buying a guitar at a Flea Market became the catalyst for bringing forth this amazing gift to all of us! Thanks again to Ben Hanten for all of his help getting our podcast up and going, and for recognizing the value of original music!! We've included the links below where you can subscribe, listen, watch and follow James' work.
