The State of Star Wars in 2024!

In this conversation, my friend Gus from Triad of the Force and I discuss our thoughts on various Star Wars shows, including The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. We explore the idea of storytelling in shorter episodes and seasons, and how it affects the overall narrative. We also touch on the importance of catering to different types of fans and the challenges of balancing fan expectations with creative choices. The conversation covers various topics related to Star Wars and fandom. We discuss the structure and pacing of shows, the importance of flashbacks, and the need for emotional twists rather than plot twists. Fortunately or unfortunately we also touch on the toxic nature of fandom and the entitlement some fans feel towards the franchise. Finally we express our appreciation for the uniqueness and unapologetic nature of 'The Acolyte' and the importance of taking risks in storytelling. The conversation highlights the need for open and respectful discussions within fandom and the dangers of relying on social media for information. The Acolyte 01 x 02: Let’s Call it an Aggressive Negotiation!

Hello, we're back! Deep Dive into Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 2 - Revenge/Justice | Toxic Fandom & Queer Lens In this episode, we deep dive into Episode 2 of Star Wars: The Acolyte - Revenge/Justice. Join us as we discuss our new views on how we plan to interact with the toxic side of fandom. We address navigating those most disgusting statements and comments head-on. We are thrilled to announce that we’re unapologetically making content for the queer community. While we welcome everyone at our table, our focus is on creating queer content specifically for our LGBTQ+ audience. WE’re super excited to continue our discussion on viewing the Jedi through a queer lens. We delve into fascinating conversations about how the Jedi seek peace in the galaxy, but similar to many churches, they seek the peace they determine is acceptable. We discuss how the 'villains' in this series use everyday citizens to help discover the Jedi, highlighting the beginning of undermining the ‘Dream’ the Sith Lord mentions in the premiere episode. Additionally, we analyze the conversation towards the end of this episode between Sol and Vern, where they disagree on taking action or engaging in meaningful discussion. What would you do - take action or discuss? Tune into this VERY Pink Milk episode where we connect the amazing storytelling of The Acolyte to today's social issues, from Roe v. Wade to the current challenges facing our trans siblings in the LGBTQ+ community and what the future may hold for us all. Thank you for tuning in! Please help us spread the word by sharing this episode with friends, leaving us a review on Apple Podcasts, and liking and commenting on this episode on YouTube! #StarWars #TheAcolyte #RevengeJustice #QueerLens #ToxicFandom #PinkMilkPodcast #LGBTQ+ #RoevWade #TransRights #StarWarsReview Let us know what you think of The Acolyte in the comments below or shoot us an email!
