    Las Pochas sit down in company to talk in this special episode about Lxs Otrxs Dreamers, a book through which its pages witness and hold the stories of 25 deportees/ returnees who found themselves exiled on this side of the border (Mexico). For its 8th anniversary we collaborated with Otros Dreams Acción to share space with Baruck & Sheila to reflect on its continued relevance, its power to build community and how its pages continue to be written aquí y allá.     We are officially done with SEASON 1!  Las Pochas share a recap of this first season, they talk about the impacts and challenges of storytelling. They share more about their aprendizajes y desaprendizajes during this process of producing Pochas So What. Las Pochas share more about what's coming up next and much appreciation and love to all of our community of listeners and supporters.

    Episode 6- Mobility between Mexico & the United States

    In today’s conversation we are going to dive into MOBILITY. What does movement represent to a community that has historically been in exile. Leni and I both migrated undocumented to the US, therefore we had little to NO connection to Mexico because we were living in what some called a “golden cage”, after we were forced to return to México, ones again we had to let go of our communities and towns, not knowing if we would ever be able to go back. For Maggie it took 8 years to return to the United States, and for me (Leni) 9 years. From this date forward we both had a piece of plastic that overnight meant that we were granted “authorization” to “return” to our families, loved ones and communities. Join us as we both share more about our process and what it means for us to have mobility between the US and Mexico.

    Join las Pochas as they share their experiences of returning to Mexico. Maggie returned at 18 by herself in the summer of 2008. Leni returned with her parents and 3 siblings in the fall of 2009. Both in the form of a road trip! Join them in discovering Cañada de Yañez, Santa María del Rio, San Luis Potosí (Maggie) and Acayucán, Veracruz and Las Brisas Pijijiapan, Chiapas (Leni).
