Houston Horror Film Fest 2023 Exclusive Interview with Anjanette Clewis



In a moment of serendipity, while visiting with a friend attending the 2023 Houston Horror Film Fest who was there exclusively to see Billy Zane, a woman sat next to me and started saying the most interesting things I'd heard all day. Terms like "scream queen" (in the context of actually being one) aren't the kinds of things that one hears in the course of normal conversation, and if you know me at all, then you know that I needed to know more. So, I asked. And asked. And was probably rude to my other friend. And then asked if she was interested in appearing on the podcast. To my delight, she was. Anjanette, my new friend from the world of B-movies, jotted down some info and places I could find her work and we were all set.

In this interview, Paul chats with a filmmaker he met briefly at the 2023 edition of the Houston Horror Film Festival. Her name is Victoria Wallace Kinkead and she was at the fest with her 1 minute horror short "In the Dark". Victoria, with her producer Jason Leal, describes the process they used to create this short, some of their influences, and what they'll be working on next.

ATX TV Festival Season 12 Day 4 - Cast members from ABC's The Good Doctor appeared on stage on the 4th day.



The fourth day of the festival featured a few panels and Caroline and Paul wrap-up their coverage with an overall summary of their time there.

ATX TV Festival Season 12 Pt. 3 - The cast of HBO's "The Righteous Gemstones" preview the upcoming 3rd season.



The third day of ATX Season 12 let Caroline and Paul get to know Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen a little better during their panel that morning. Other panels they enjoyed included:



* "Launching a Pod(cast) Co(mpany)" - a panel about the rise of nostalgia-based podcasts featuring former actors talking about their old shows.

* "FROM" - A panel with supervising director and executive producer Jack Bender and lead actor Harold Perrineau talking about their excellent TV series.

* "Director POV: Jack Bender" - accomplished director and producer Jack Bender recalled his long career.

* "HBO's THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES" - Live music, the first two episodes of the new season, and a packed panel made for a LOT of laughs that rainy evening.

* "ACCUSED" - Actors from the recent crime anthology talk about their time on set.

* "CHEERS Reunion" - Actors and creatives from 80s classic "Cheers" reminisce about their experience on the historic show
