Nick, the show's creator has also created recent streaming favorites, like The Act and Brand New Cherry Flavor. Robin, the series' showrunner, has written for shows ranging from Mad Men to The Expanse. They describe how they decided that Candy's bizarre tale of unleashed rage matched their own desires for storytelling, as well as other interesting aspects of the production. We see Pam starting to become ... unhinged. She's still winning left and right, but she's starting to feel the walls closing in on her. As Dateline presses on her, Leah reveals Pam's fate if the people of Troy elect another District Attorney. Mundane events turn into epic showdowns, and even Mr. Hupp pushes back, leaving Pam feeling twitchy. We dive into yet another trial where Pam heavily features. Betsy's daughter's growth in this episode comes up a lot in this podcast as we try to deflect the spotlight away from Pam. Leah needs distance between her strategy and Pam, now seeing her as unreliable, but not a liar. We're still scratching our heads over the new details Pam opted to share for the retrial. We take a trip in the way-back machine for a glimpse at Pam's origin story, which is as icky as you think it might be. Pam's relationship with both her daughter and mother is strained in this episode, all by Pam's doing. And when is Betsy going to get justice in this town?!
