Reliving My Youth

Holy hell 1999 was quite the year for movies. I really appreciate Phil and Kenny for bringing that to my attention via this podcast. Half of the movies they've covered so far, I spent my late teens watching repeatedly on TV or DVD. It's also encouraged me to revisit a number of films that I had shrugged off as awful, but were actually great films *coughLIFEcough*. And vice versa. Keep it up, guys. You're doing great work.

I want to love this podcast.

This podcast is a great idea. 1999 was a great year for movies. But I just can’t get past the constant virtue signaling. Everything is viewed through the overly-PC 2019 lense. It’s as if the hosts want you to feel guilty for liking these movies.

There's been some other podcasts recently that have sprung up and are trying to jump on the 1999 bandwagon, but don't be fooled; this is the real deal. These dudes know and, more importantly, love the movies of '99 in a way that a true 1999 fan can just sense.

Never been a big Magnolia fan, but I'm excited to hear the boys try and change my mind!
