Quick biography and nothing more
12月14日
Example: WH Auden episode 10 minutes long and the first 7 are a two bit biography. With less than 4 minutes to go one host says, “So, shall we have a quick look at one those [poems]?” and rather than do that there is more generalized tidbits about TS Eliot and his influence. This is a waste of the hosts’ expertise. The bio given could be had in half the time at twice the depth at numerous websites. With only 10-15 minutes to work with how could the trivial bit that Auden played Wagner duets with his mother seem an appropriate use of time? There is not one moment in which either host shared their non-trivial knowledge of the subject.
