Bringing Reading Back has returned for our second season, Shit You'd Read in Lit! This season we'll be focusing on books that are typically found in English and literature classes in high school - you know, those books you were supposed to read for class but never did? Well now we're diving back into these classics, starting with Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. We step into a world where owning books is illegal, and if you are found with a book of any kind, it must be burned - and usually your house gets burned with it. Guy Montag is one of the firemen responsible for these book burnings, and is content in his life until suddenly things start to change... Will he continue his life as a fireman, or will he soon discover that a world without books is a world destined for destruction? Tune in tomorrow to hear us dive deeper into the themes of Fahrenheit 451 and break down what we liked and didn't like about this classic.
