EP 117 - Mapper Method with Christoph Steinlehner

Have you ever seen those pictures of a group of people with sticky notes around a whiteboard, working their way through a tough problem and coming with some innovative solutions? Did you feel they know something you don’t, and their work seems so much fun, while yours is not as creative? Well, it’s not as hard as it looks and you can do it too! But it’s always good to have a structure for the madness. And we got one for you in this episode! Featuring Christoph Steinlehner, Product Coach and Consultant, creator of the MAPPER Method (who started his career as a designer), Matt and Moshe sat down to learn from him how using visual methods and tools can help identifying gaps, aligning teams to the same mental model, and creating some innovation magic! 2. EP 116 - Session Replay Wrap Up with Matt & Moshe

    OCT 2

EP 116 - Session Replay Wrap Up with Matt & Moshe

In this episode, Matt and Moshe met to wrap up the Session Replay Tools series, and share what they learned after discussing several products. In the series we learned about PostHog from Vincent Pavero, FullStory from Mandar Karlekar, HotJar from John Fontenot, and LogRocket from Zach Phillips and Nikki Zavadska. As we usually do in the summary episode, we looked back at our learning throughout the series, and sure there were many! Reflecting back on past product serieses we had, some of the themes came back also in this one, such as choosing a product that goes deep into one area and does if very well, verses choosing a product that does many different things and has a wide array of features, all integrated with each other, but might not go as deep into some of them. It is interesting to see how companies have either started in Session Replay and added other capabilities over time, and others that started in other areas such as Product Analytics, and added Session Replay more lately. Join us on the episode as we further discuss: Use cases throughout the organization Technology used to record the sessionsInsights from many sessions rather than one at a timeChoosing the right one for you based on your needsHow security is handled and the importance of having several approaches to it The emerging trends in AI and these productsAnd much more! Thank you to our guests in this series for sharing with us their experiences!  Product for Product site:Product for Product Podcast Connect with Matt and Moshe on LinkedIn:MattMosheNote: any views mentioned in the podcast are the sole views of our hosts and guests, and do not represent the products mentioned in any way. 3. EP 115 - LogRocket with Zach Phillips & Nikki Zavadska

    SEP 18

EP 115 - LogRocket with Zach Phillips & Nikki Zavadska

We continue our Session Replay series with the next product, LogRocket. To learn all about it, we had the pleasure to speak with two guests - Zach Phillips, Senior Product Analyst, and Nikki Zavadska, Lead Product Manager Growth, both at Appfire. Their perspectives were complimentary so we decide, why not? Let’s talk with both! Zach is essentially in the product operations area of Appfire, and his team helps implementing LogRocket for the other teams that build products. Nikki is a growth product manager working on one of these teams, so she has first hand experience with some interesting use cases. As a company that build many apps that are sold on 3rd party app store, such as Atlassian and Salesforce, Appfire needed flexibility and control in their session replay platform that they were able to find with LogRocket. It is always interesting for us to learn new use cases and have aha moments on the show, and this one came to us when Nikki shared an interesting case, where she couldn’t have find the cause for rage clicks without the usage of the session replay tool. Join us as we explore LogRocket with Zack and Nikki: Why they chose it over other products * How long it takes to implement * Use cases where they use session replay * The benefits of using LogRocket compared with other product analytics tools * How the engineers are using it too * How it handles security and compliance * Other features available in LogRocket and who uses them * Features they love and those that could be improved Using LogRocket to inform the direction of growth experiments * How to justify to the business to get the product * How many electric guitars does Zach own? * And so much more… To learn more about LogRocket: https://www.LogRocket.com * Connect with Zach: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wz... * Connect with Nikki: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ni... EP 114 - Hotjar with John Fontenot

We continue our Session Replay series with the next product, HotJar. To learn about it, we invited John Fontenot to return to the podcast. Last time we talked with John early on the podcast journey, on Episode 11, when we learned from him about Roadmunk, a Feedback & Roadmapping tool. Today we cover HotJar, one of the first session replay products we experienced in our product career. John is using it at two of the companies he founded, Path 2 Product and Repo. John loves HotJar’s free plan, which gives him insights into how the users are using his products, how many users are using specific features, where people get stuck, or where the product might have usability bugs. Join us as we explore HotJar with John: Use cases where he uses session replayDeep dive into security related concerns in session replay productsHow to approach users that we know have a problem, without making them feel like we are creeping on themOther features of HotJar, and integrations with other systemsHotJar’s approach to freemium vs. premium versions, and features available in eachWhen is it the right time to upgrade to a premium versionContemplating on session replay for physical products in physical storesWhat he likes and what he wishes can be improved with HotJarAnd so much more…To learn more about HotJar: https://www.hotjar.com/ Connect with John: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robfontenot/ Path 2 Product: https://path2product.io/ Repo: https://researchrepo.com/ Connect with Matt and Moshe on LinkedIn: Matt GreenMoshe Mikanovsky Note: any views mentioned in the podcast are the sole views of our hosts and guests, and do not represent the products mentioned in any way. AUG 21

EP 113 - Fullstory with Mandar Karlekar

We continue our Session Replay series with the next product, FullStory. To learn about it, we invited Mandar Karlekar to return to the pod all the way from Australia. Last time we talked with Mandar in Episode 72, when we learned about Loom for async communication. Even back then we learned how much Mandar loves FullStory, so we were sure to invite him again to tell us all about it. FullStory started as a Session Replay platform, with a unique functionality - creating insights from multiple sessions. Mandar shared many reasons he likes the product, such as its simple and intuitive user experience, the fast time to value, how easy it is to implement, and how valuable it is to all business units. Join us as we explore FullStory with Mandar:Where he utilizes FullStory with his clientsMany of the values created by using the platform such as:Enabling teams and orgs to intimately understand customers pain points and needs at scaleBundling up insights across the user journeyBringing teams together to realize the impact they built and where things should be improvedThe integrations available between FullStory and other platformsThe value of getting analytics from session recordings which record everything, rather than by setting it up manuallyThe AI powers that are included in the platformHow FullStory handles security, personal information safety, and any specific security needs of clientsBest features that he likes, and areas to improve Usage in B2C and B2B productsWhat new clients of FullStory usually test to confirm it will not impact their product And so much more…To learn more about FullStory:https://www.fullstory.com/ Connect with Mandar:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mandarkarlekar/ Product Rocket: https://www.productrocket.com/ Connect with Matt and Moshe on LinkedIn: Matt GreenMoshe MikanovskyNote: any views mentioned in the podcast are the sole views of our hosts and guests, and do not represent the products mentioned in any way. 6. EP 112 - Posthog with Vincent Pavero

    AUG 7

EP 112 - Posthog with Vincent Pavero

The first product we cover in the Session Replay series is PostHog. To learn about it, we invited Vincent Pavero, Co-Founder, CEO at Homeric and Product Coach & Advisor at Vincent.pm. PostHog is the first open source product we are covering on the podcast, which is an interesting point in itself, and we wondered aloud on the show why there aren’t more open source products for product people.  PostHog is not just a Session Replay platform, as it also supports product analytics, surveys, feature flags, A/B testing and more! Vincent loves it for this reason, as he has replaced 7 tools that he used previously by PostHog! We did focus our discussion on the show on Session Replay, and its strengths in PostHog. This includes the basic features: access and playback of user’s sessions, filter to find sessions, anonymous vs signed in users, skipping inactivity periods, overlay with features, heat map, rich-click detector, a band on the screen to show where they go lowest, sharing and exporting recordings, etc. Being geared mainly to product engineers, PostHog has additional features such as an inspector to see what happens in the browser (front end), and all the code that the browser is interacting with the back end. Join us as we explore with Vincent: How did he get to product Reasons to use a product like PostHog, and specifically session replayProduct analytics that goes beyond session recordingsThe pros and cons of using an open source product in our sectorSecurity measures for sensitive data Can AI create value in session replay? The importance of simplicity and consistencyPostHog perspective on their role in helping users analyze their product data Areas that can be improved in PostHog Deep understanding by PostHog of their users, as evident in their website and all documentation materials And so much more…To learn more about PostHog: https://posthog.com/ Connect with Vincent: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vincentpavero/ Product coaching website: https://vincent.pm/ Homeric: https://homeric.ai Connect with Matt and Moshe on LinkedIn: Matt GreenMoshe MikanovskyNote: any views mentioned in the podcast are the sole views of our hosts and guests, and do not represent the products mentioned in any way. EP 110 - Net Adoption Threshold Framework with Anat Eldar

Is the MVP where we should stop at understanding whether we have a good direction to go with our product idea? Probably not. Join us to the latest episode, where Matt and Moshe have met with Anat Eldar, Product Leadership Consultant, as she goes through her Net Adoption Threshold (NAT) framework.  Drawing from her extensive product management roles at companies such as Amdocs, Microsoft, AOL, Yahoo and Taboola, as well as from her teaching at the Reichman University, Anat had developed NAT to help product managers and organizations understand not only what the value they create, but also whether it is greater than the costs (both sunk and switching costs) and the current solution’s value.  Join us as we learn from Anat: How did she get to product What is the Net Adoption Threshold (NAT) frameworkWho is it for and how they use itDoes it fit all types of products and situations?Does it work well with other frameworks or does it replace them? The breakdown of the NAT formula: New Solution Value - (Sunk Costs + Switching Costs) > Current Solution Value How do we quantify each of these? What is the most important thing to quantify in this process? Some pitfalls when startups attempt to implement the NAT framework and how to avoid themHow often should they assess the NAT if things are changing? How to start adopting NAT right awayAnd much more!
