PropTalk Magazine Publisher Mary Ewenson on Sailing, Publishing, and Inspiring Women Outdoors

Gabby Hoffman is joined by Mary Ewenson, publisher of and of Country Outdoors fame for this week’s Sportswoman Show! Mary Ewenson grew up on the Severn River, just north of Annapolis, Maryland, spending much of her summers on the water. After college, she taught high school math for several years before turning her love for sailing into a new career in 1995, when she and her friend Dave Gendell started SpinSheet Magazine. Mary is a pioneering figure in the outdoor media industry. Mary’s initial foray into the marine industry with SpinSheet has grown over the years to include PropTalk Magazine, PortBook, a stake in the Annapolis BoatShows, and most recently FishTalk Magazine, which she started with Chesapeake angler Lenny Rudow. Mary talks about the Annapolis Boat Show, her career, conserving the Chesapeake Bay Area from invasive species, and what led her to make her passion for sailing and the outdoors into a career.
