Our guest today is Joel Blecher who has a beautiful story about learning Yiddish in Berlin and the historical resonances. Joel also had a few questions for me, so I speak a little about Yiddish in my family and starting to study Yiddish.

Fun and useful
I mostly read old newspapers and this really helps bring Yiddish to life.
Very Useful for a Beginner
I'm an advanced beginner. Listening to this podcast once a day makes up for the sparsity of oral comprehension in a once a week zoom course. I listen; I read the vocabulary; I listen again, and then I read the transcript. Excellent supplement to my course.
