Episode 29 - Spectre - The Ndrangheta, the world's own Spectre

Episode 29 - Spectre - The Ndrangheta, the world's own Spectre

This episode is a fascinating history of the world's more powerful criminal enterprise that you probably have never heard of.  Operating for almost 150 years now the Ndrangheta has amassed a network that creates $60 billion a year of revenue and accounts for 3% of Italy's GDP.  This is done from kidnapping, extortion, drug trade, political corruption, human smuggling and prostitution.  This has all been accomplished while being relatively secret.  Their meeting place is even right out of a James Bond story in a lair that would make Blofield jealous.  Join myself and Sal Manteria as we discuss Spectre the movie, the Ndrangheta, and all the craziness of this organization that truly has people everywhere ..............

Episode 26 - Casino Royale, How the Hedge Fund Guys Feel Le Chiffre's Pain

Want to know what the hell is going on right now with the Game Stop, Reddit, hedge funds?  Everything is explained as well as explaining how this was how Le Chiffre was trying to get rich in the same way by shorting a stock only to have it blow up (or in his case not blow up) in his face.  Really great, topical episode that perfectly ties into a James Bond movie with special guest Matt Perkins from Bond Cigars on IG.

Episode 25 - How China became communist and its grip on Hollywood

Episode 25 - How China became communist and its grip on Hollywood

In the second part of a two part episode me and my guests get into how China has influenced Bond and Hollywood.  China has influenced Hollywood artistically with the explosion of Kung Fu film and its influence on action movies today.  China in modern times has influenced Hollywood in a much more hidden way.  The China movie market has finally had the door cracked open to American film and that has come with a price.  Scripts, actors, social media, and film portrayal of China all has to go through a rigorous process of being vetted by the Ministry of Propaganda.  This kowtowing to China may not seem like a big deal, but how far is Hollywood willing to go?    Learn the history of the Chinese Communist Party and how China became a quasi-communist regime.  Join myself and Thomas Felix Creighton from FlemingNeverDies as we delve into the complexity of this complicated regime.

I love the history related to the movies. I never have been bored.
I used to always look at my time tracker on my slow jogs and listening to this goes by immediately listening to him. I recommend this even if your not a Bond fan. And he is funny too.

Bond's Apartment ,

Original & Highly Entertaining

This is one of my favorite podcasts in general, not just Bond related. Donny does an excellent job hosting as well as putting in the time to do the research to make his topics that much more interesting. His dedication and passion exudes in every episode.

DSKreativ ,

NOT a Bond Cast!

Juvenile content with sexist and piggish comments about women throughout. Not a Bond cast.
