Question Everything with Brian Reed
Reporter Brian Reed re-examines everything about journalism, the profession he thought he knew. In the middle of making his second hit podcast, Brian got sued. Accused. Told the biggest story of his career – the Peabody Award-winning series S-Town – wasn’t journalism. Which meant he had to spend years proving that it was. Obsessing over the question, “What is journalism, anyway?” Join Brian as he turns the tools he’s acquired over his years as a journalist on journalism itself. With gripping stories, reporting, and interviews every other Thursday, Question Everything is a show for anyone who's ever felt confused, frustrated, or misled by the news they rely on. At a time when distrust in the media is at an all time high, when so many believe that journalism is failing, Question Everything is a real-time quest to try and make journalism better. So Interesting

What a timely topic in this day and age of mistrust in journalism, and lines blurred between journalism and entertainment. So far the conversations have been thought provoking and insightful. Love this peek behind the curtain. Can’t wait for future episodes!
So far so good

This is an interesting and timely premise. I’m curious to see how it will evolve as they go more real time.
What I like in podcasts.

Thought provoking and honest discourse. Love to hear any conservative come on show n defend their points. Welcome exchange of all opinions but don’t see that in media.
Waiting

I’m waiting for the show to develop beyond the current navel-gazing posture. I really like the premise and think there’s a ton to mine here but it doesn’t seem like we’ve landed on what the show’s format is meant to be. Is it a collection of industry conversations that will add to something cumulatively? It is a story about journalism with information in a journalistic format (whatever that may mean)? After the first episode which made sense to cover the background and to lay a framework for “why am I making this”, having the second episode be a meta discussion with journalists who all clearly agree that journalism is losing ground then musing on why, is a 301 level discussion without any foundation of “what is the going opinion on what journalism is?” “Who decided what journalism was and who decides that now?” “Who is journalism for?” “Why does this moment feel different?” And maybe this is an industry podcast for other journalists so that exploration isn’t needed, but for the populace or at least for me in particular, the purpose of the show is unclear.
