Put me in the game, Coach!
I’ve known I wanted to get into real estate for years but would constantly find myself making excuses: I don’t have the money, the bandwidth, the knowledge, etc... the excuses could’ve filled an encyclopedia.
Well, queue 2020 and many of those excuses evaporated with the pandemic. All the distractions in my life (bars, events, outings) disappeared and I spent 6 months learning everything I could about real estate - luckily, very early into that process a friend recommended this podcast. I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER RESOURCE.
Books can provide a ton of the practical skills and help with deal analysis and calculations, but there’s nothing better than hearing Coach walk through his pitfalls, success stories, and obscure topics that aren’t covered in any single book. Being able to absorb knowledge on the go has been a major influencing factor in accelerating my learning curve.
In no small part thanks to Coach’s lessons, I purchased my first duplex in Austin in October after starting this journey in earnest only 6 months prior! Not only that, after capex, maintenance, etc. it’s cash flowing over $400/door!
My first deal even materializing was enabled by something Coach said resonated deeply with me in one of the early episodes:
“The biggest impediment to most people embarking on the path to financial independence isn’t knowledge or desire, it’s actually taking that first step.”
So glad I did. Making an informed decision and making a bold move can be stressful, but now I have an investment with significant cash flow and continue to use Coach’s lessons on the management side for growth (the episode on Cozy - now apartments.com - was particular helpful for managing tenants!)
I’m a huge fan of this podcast and recommend to anyone who’s serious about investing in real estate and loves practical applications!
Interesting guests and tangible guidance
My husband and I are getting into residential real estate investing a bit later in life (mid 50s) and both really enjoy Coach Carson’s podcast. He gives tangible guidance and steps to get you on the path to financial independence and his guests’ real world stories are inspiring - if they can do it... so can we! Thanks Coach and we hope to be your podcast guests telling our story in the not too distant future.
Solid down-to-earth real estate advice
I really enjoy listening to Coach Carson on this podcast. He offers motivating messages about getting into real estate, without a bunch of hype like some other shows.
