Real Wealth: Changing Views on Money & Wealth

Real Wealth: Changing Views on Money & Wealth

The pandemic is changing the way people think about money, and how much they feel they need to be wealthy. The Charles Schwab 2020 Modern Wealth Survey was taken in January of this year, before the U.S. was hit by the pandemic, and again in June, several months after the pandemic began. The results reveal changes in both attitudes and behavior, when it comes to money. More than half of the people who participated in the survey say COVID-19 has had a financial impact on them or a close family member.

Due Diligence: New Flood Risk Tool for Individual Properties Across the U.S.

Millions of U.S. properties are at substantial risk of flooding, and some say that risk is growing due to climate change. But it hasn’t been easy to determine a property’s flood risk. Many states don’t have flood history disclosure requirements, and FEMA maps don’t tell the whole story. A non-profit academic research group hopes to close that information gap with a new visualization tool that calculates flood risk for 142 million properties across the U.S.

Real Estate: Malls Support E-Commerce with Vacant Store to Warehouse Conversions

Demand for warehouse space is skyrocketing as more and more people shop online, and that is providing another option for struggling malls. A new report from commercial real estate services firm JLL says we may need another 1 billion square feet of warehouse space by 2025.

Great Podcast!

I really enjoy listening to the weekly updates on my morning walk though the neighborhood. These short podcasts allow me to get a high level overview on what’s happening in the market and what to plan for. Been listening for over a year and always look forward to the next podcast!

Good content but blog rarely up to date and occasional episode streaming issues

Good content overall but I have found the blog is not updated. The blog provides episode details, facts & resources for a given episode and after listening and I check the blog to get the link, etc. - the entire episode just isn’t listed yet. I’m assuming I listen within 1-12hours of episode release most of the time. Also sometimes I just have to skip episodes entirely as it won’t download or stream.

Disappointing when Kathy veers out of her lane

He take on the Covid-19 crisis are so resoundingly wooden-headed (I’m talking about here in late July, not in January) that it makes me question to what extent she’s cognitively capable of digesting any news at all and presenting it accurately. So I unsubscribed this week.

To wit, she is STILL claiming Covid-19 is just the flu and says she can’t understand why any businesses are being closed because of it. It’s appalling. Even Trump has changed his tune… yet Kathy F is still spewing this bizarro-world take on the coronavirus.
