Real Talk with Deb and Will Willie Lawson

We are on a short weekend away for our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. We thought that we would check in on Facebook, so we did!

The most important part of communication is not talking, it is listening. Active listening is a skill that you must learn if communication is going to be successful. Listening to hear what you spouse is really saying and feeling is more important than paying enough attention to form a retort to what they are saying. How are your active listening skills?

In somany ways we must be willing to asked the hard questions. One of those questions that must be answered is "Are you equally yoked?" Are both of you seeing eye to on the most important aspect of a relationship? Where are you both financially? Where are both of you in your faith life? Where are both you on your career paths? These are questions that youthful love will not be able to under wraps.

It is tough to work out everything beforehand but you hould bring up some topic Before you say I do. Today we hope to spark some conversation in your relationship BEFORE you go down the aisle.

Boy when you got married there was so much to do, and there was so much you didn't know. Everyone was happy to chime in with what you should do. Today we ask the question, what advice do you wish you had been given as newlyweds.
