This is part two of our study of the assurance of salvation. In our last episode, we laid down the premise that a great deal of the struggle with the lack of assurance is due to a lack of understanding and belief in justification by faith alone.

Many Christians struggle with assurance temporarily; some struggle off and on for years, and others struggle their whole Christian lives.  Michael Durham deals with assurance in a way that diagnoses the cause of assurance struggles. He gets to the root cause of why a Christian grapples with God's acceptance. 

In this podcast, the focus is on how distinctly a person's faith is in the doctrine of justification. Most true Christians who struggle to be assured do so because they carry the burden of striving for an unattainable righteousness and refuse to rest in the Savior who freely extends this kind of righteousness. 

This episode discusses how to combat and cure our spiritual downturns. As already explained, all Christians suffer this malady from time to time. No one is exempt. Therefore, if we experience it, it stands to reason that we need to know how to see its end and experience recovery from spiritual declension.
