RED SOX POSTCAST- 5 Errors Doom Red Sox in Series Opener Against White Sox

The Red Sox committed 5 errors in an embarrassing 11-1 loss to the White Sox Friday night in Chicago.  The White Sox ended an 8-game losing streak with the win.  Sean Newcomb took the loss.  The Red Sox have lost 4 of 5 and managed only 7 hits in losing to the White Sox.

To Err is Human: The Red Sox committed a season-high 5 more errors (2 on catcher's interference) in the series opener. The Red Sox committed only 3errors over their 1st 7 games but have committed 16 errors over the last 8 games.

What's On Tap?: The Sox continue their 3-game series against the White Sox on Sunday afternoon. Richard Fitts is expected to make the start for the Sox.  The Red Sox and Rays will open up a series in Tampa, FL Monday night.

Red Sox Trade: The Red Sox traded Pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive balance pick (#33) in the 2025 MLB Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Monday. Rodriguez was touted as the 7th-best prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 19 and started this season off at the Advanced-A Level. Priester was acquired from the Pirates last July for infielder Nick Yorke. Priester made his MLB debut on the final day of the 2024 Regular Season, and he earned the win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
