Holly, a critical care nurse turned postpartum advocate, shares her challenging journey through motherhood. Despite a smooth birth, her postpartum period brought isolation and distress due to lack of support and her son's difficulties. Struggling with sleep deprivation and postpartum anxiety, she reevaluated her career after realizing the challenges of returning to nursing.

After a year exploring options, Holly discovered "Matrescence" and underwent a transformative six-month certification. Balancing work and motherhood, she pursued a breastfeeding specialist certificate. Arin, empathizing with postpartum anxiety, emphasizes the need for preparation and support.

The conversation stresses the importance of societal understanding and support for new mothers. Holly advocates for comprehensive support systems, including physical assistance, therapy, and virtual groups. Arin encourages sharing the episode to spark open conversations. Holly is an RN, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and a Matrescence Educator and Guide. She holds women’s circles and does 1:1 work with new moms. She’s passionate about holistic wellness in the immediate postpartum phase, the magic of breastfeeding, and guiding mothers while they find their own way in motherhood. She’s a mom of two, a nature lover, a fantasy book fanatic, and hopes to create a big change for the mother-baby dyad in this life.
