    [Original airdate: 6/13/24] Mary chats with Pastor and author Mike Abendroth who has written a 31 day devotional on how to allow God to shepherd us when we find ourselves suffering from chronic illness. The title alone is very freeing, and when we search the Scriptures, how much more is this true and verified over and over as we seek to get to know our Good Shepherd better. Everyone is shepherded, led - and follows -  something in this life, we are all serving something, someone. But for the believer, the true Shepherd cannot be supplanted by something as temporal as illness; beyond that, He cherishes and cares deeply for each of us each day, in sickness and in health. As he says in this devotional, "Cancer is not your shepherd. Cancer is not in charge. Cancer is not all powerful. Cancer does not have the last word. Cancer is not a surprise to the Lord. Cancer - is NOT your shepherd". A much needed devotional in these trying, perilous times in which it seems more and more people are struggling with serious health issues.     Replay – Olivier Melnick: Who Are the Jewish People?

    [Original airdate: 9/10/24] Mary chats with Olivier Melnick, a Jewish believer from France; son of Holocaust survivors and whose maternal grandfather was killed by the Nazis. He is an internationally known speaker on antisemitism. He holds a BA from Moody Bible Institute and a masters from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has been equipping believers to understand and fight antisemitism since 2000, and has written 5 books on the topic and contributed over 600 articles to print and digital media. He currently serves with Chosen People ministries as a US regional director and vice-president of their French work. Today we look at his books “You Know Somebody Jewish! Now What? - Answering 50 Important Questions” and, “The Normalization of Antisemitism - When the Oldest Hatred Becomes the New Normal". Christians who encounter Jews in their course of life often have no idea how to present Jesus, their and our Messiah, to them in a way that cuts through the preconceived ideas both sides have. So let's ask some questions: Why do the Jews struggle with the deity of Jesus? Why don't they say the name of God? Who exactly is a Jew, is it an ethnicity or a faith?     David Bowen: Jerusalem on God’s Map; The UN Global Grab; Papers, Please

    Today Mary welcomes back David Bowen to discuss God's map and man's map, two different trajectories altogether. According to Ezekiel 5:5, Jerusalem is the center of the world. Can you imagine the uproar in this world if mapmakers followed the Bible's focus on this? But God's economy and man's are polar opposites, and so the war rages on. Psalm 2 tells us that those who would plot against God cause Him to laugh at their plans, but judgment awaits those who would rebel against His claims on their lives. We discuss Jerusalem from the media's perspective, then we go on to the UN's global pact and see if it has any sticking power; at this late hour, probably, but does anyone take the UN seriously? Finally we dig into the latest biometric tech as the world readies for a global ID eventually. Pastor, evangelist, teacher Dr. David Bowen joined the Lamb & Lion Ministries team in 2023 as their Teaching Evangelist. He also serves as a co-host on their Christ in Prophecy television program and travels to participate in prophecy conferences.     Pete Garcia: Apocalyptophobia

    Mary welcomes back Pete Garcia for a conversation about the Apocalypse. The media is using "of biblical proportions" more and more to describe the world we are in. Climate change, economic meltdown, natural disasters ("birth pangs") and AI takeover of the human race all contribute to apocalyptic fear and fervor. We look at the exponential increase of these types of films over the last 100 years, as well as headlines that invoke fear. To what end? There are multiple answers to that question, but they do include keeping the masses fearful and in crisis mode, but also it plays right into the anticipation of the man with the answers - the Antichrist. Is there also a fear of death that these movies seem to bring actual consolation? Perhaps, since the phrase, "post-apocalyptic" is so common today, and describes those who have survived the worst and lived to tell, and renovate, and repopulate. A fascinating subject that ends with our hope, and how to spread that instead of terror.  Pete Garcia is a military combat veteran and aviator, writer, researcher, speaker, and teacher of Bible prophecy and apologetics with a BA in International Relations and a graduate of the US Army's prestigious Command and General Staff College. He wrote for Jack Kinsella's The Omega Letter from 2011-2018. One of the main authors, David, was a pivotal person in all of history but in the Scriptures, it gets personal with his laments, cries and proclamations that not only drew him closer to God, but it has become a book of hymns and prayers for us all. David's trials have resonated with all believers at one time or another. Whether a Messianic song, a song of Thanksgiving, or a lament, the Psalms is a unique book that spans over 400 years of history and is a never-ending source of inspiration, awe, theology, and history.     Headlines: Deceiving and Being Deceived

    Another headline day takes us straight to some core issues: a deceptive new film hitting theaters next week is up first. "The Great Warning" trailer on YouTube is presented like a teaser for those of us who love bible prophecy - but it doesn't take long before we realize this has nothing to do with actual, authentic bible prophecy. The Catholic church is looking to warn people of events to come but their "warning" is for an event that does not appear in the Scriptures. Calling this mystical mystery tour "authentic prophecy" is flat out deception, but what they describe is to come is so bizarre and yet with the reach of Catholicism in our neighborhoods, there will be some who embrace this, so this is our "great warning" - to stay far away from this film.  Also on the list for today is, who is voting for Harris, as in, will men vote for her? Why are Christians saying they won't vote? These stories have been trending in the headlines so we will take a look at a potential first female president and also what's on the election docket. Then we wrap the podcast with some random headlines.
