Episode 130: Healing Through Connection w/ Beth Ann

In this episode of the Resilient Humans Podcast,  I had the privilege of sitting down with the incredible Beth Ann, a transformational coach and speaker whose story is a true testament to Resilience. Beth has faced profound challenges, including experiences with sexual violence, addiction, and PTSD, and has come out the other side with a mission to help others reconnect with themselves and reclaim their power. We dive into the importance of community and how building connections can be a transformative experience.  Beth shares how stepping into spaces of vulnerability, like joining a community song circle, helped her heal and thrive.  We explore the loneliness epidemic, the challenges of individualism in today’s world, and how fostering deep human connections can make all the difference. One of the most impactful parts of our conversation was hearing Beth talk about “completing the cycle” of trauma and how practicing boundaries, consent, and safe physical touch have been vital to her healing journey. She also gives us a sneak peek into her upcoming book Beth’s wisdom and vulnerability are sure to inspire anyone who’s looking to grow, heal, and connect with the world around them. In this episode, we talk about: • The role of community in personal growth and healing. • Why individualism and social media can exacerbate loneliness. • How Beth overcame fear and built a thriving support network. • Practical strategies for embracing transformation and finding resilience. This episode is packed with insights, heartfelt moments, and actionable steps to help you lean into your own journey of resilience. Thank you for listening! Episode 129: Controversial truths about progress

Coming back from a win at a competition this weekend, I thought I'd share some thoughts from an 18 year coach. In this episode, I tackle four common fitness myths (that may be controversial) that might be holding you back and share actionable tips to improve your performance: You Don’t Need to Workout 6-7 Days a Week Overtraining doesn’t equal better results. By focusing on 3-4 well-structured workouts a week, combined with intensity and proper recovery, you can see greater progress without the risk of burnout or injury. Rest isn’t a luxury—it’s part of the program. Open Gym Isn’t the Key to Success You don’t need endless hours of Open Gym to improve. Structured, coach-led classes are designed to help you progress, especially when you prioritize technique and effort over volume. For targeted improvements, like mastering a movement, a personal training session is far more effective than going at it solo. Nutrition Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect Forget the all-or-nothing mindset. Consistency matters more than perfection. By sticking to one simple habit—like not eating after 7 PM—you can see significant results, as I did when I dropped 14 pounds in 30 days. Start small, be consistent, and watch your results build over time. What You Do Outside the Gym Matters Just as Much Training hard isn’t enough if you’re neglecting the basics: mobility, sleep, hydration, and stress management. Tight hips? Poor sleep? Chronic dehydration? These are performance killers. Focus on improving your lifestyle habits, and your results inside the gym will skyrocket. Takeaway: Progress isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing better. Nail the fundamentals, stay consistent, and remember: fitness is a journey, not a race. As always, please like, share, and subscribe.  If you would like some help, please reach out! I'd love to be your coach.  Thanks for listening! ----------------------------------------- Connect with me! https://www.instagram.com/cfcoach_kevin/ https://ifixyourmindset.com Feel free to join my free Facebook group.
