Taylors Bridge (Delaware Wild Lands) with Kate Hackett, Brigham Whitman, and Matt Sarver
Creator, Producer, Host: Jean Lynch
In Episode 2 I speak with Kate Hackett and Brigham Whitman of Delaware Wild Lands and Matt Sarver of Sarver Ecological, about forest and coastal plain pond restoration in a working landscape that is a hotspot for biodiversity.
At Taylors Bridge in the Delaware coastal plain, the mosaic of wetlands, early successional habitats, forest, and small-scale farming is designed to support a significant number of regional species of conservation concern throughout the the habitats' successional trajectories.

Great Topic, Great Discussion
I really liked the way this podcast took the complicated problem of rebuilding and making wetland sustainable and broke it down piece by piece.
Petty Island restoration
What a nice episode discussing Petty Island and the work being done to recover from its industrial past. Really enjoyed hearing the historical tidbits as well. My Dad grew up in Kensington, a mile or so west of Penn Treaty park which you mentioned. I spoke with him after listening to the program and he never heard of Petty Island. He grew up in a different era where people considered any trip outside of their neighborhood a big deal. He lived and play around Norris Square Park and St Boniface church (a brownstone building from the 1870s which was his family church and school). The church was falling part and finally demolished in 2012 or so. Fortunately they built new row houses in the style of the old neighborhood. Look forward to hearing and learning more from you!
Timely and compelling
I look forward to the upcoming episodes and to learning about these important restoration projects!
