CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH: On October 31, 1999, a young Rev. Dr William Barber II delivered a passionate speech titled "Stop the Funeral" to uplift voters during a rally at St. Paul's Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. His speech is addressing the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school desegregation case and it's potential impact within the state. Barber has been the pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, NC since 1993. In 2013, he started a coalition with 93 advocacy groups called "Moral Mondays" as a civil rights protest at the NC State Capital. He has been named one of the NC's most progressive political leaders.
