Great Content, Poor Production Values
14 sept.
In this day and age, there’s no excuse for the awful production values of this otherwise really good podcast. There’s too much ambient noise, sound levels are wildly uneven, and you can hear guests’ phone notifications chiming all the time. It’s as though they never had a pre-show meeting to go over basics nor do they seem to ever do a pre-show sound check. And I’ve heard fumbles that could easily have been edited out. It’s a shame because the content is really good, although I agree with another reviewer who says Bob Allison interjects too many sounds while his guests talk. It makes this podcast very difficult to listen to. I’ve taken to reading the transcript while I’m listening so I can understand what some are saying. These mistakes are easily fixable and you would have a great podcast instead of a mediocre one due to production problems. Please get it together! Five stars for content, zero for audio and overall production.
Excellent Content but amateurish hosting
18 juil.
Excellent and diverse content which is generally very interesting. Unfortunately, the quality of the podcast is seriously diminished by the host’s poor interview skills – while knowledgeable his constant interjections of “Yeah,” “Right,” “Hmm,” etc., are amateurish and off putting.
Content as Compared to Production Quality
24 mars
I generally enjoy the content of the podcasts, however the production quality of some is very distracting. One, for example, is the podcast about Henry Knox and his wife. I had to stop listening as I could not get past what I think were drawers being repeatedly opened and closed.
