In this episode, Dr. Bianco will explore the themes of her widely recognized book, ‘Breaking Free: The Lie of Equality and the Feminist Fight for Freedom.’ Dr. Marcie Bianco explores the struggles women have faced for over a century in her book Breaking Free: The Lie of Equality and the Feminist Fight for Freedom. Despite battles for equality, Bianco argues that the concept itself is a fallacy that fails to address historical discrimination and oppression. Tracing the campaign for women’s suffrage through modern history, she reveals how the pursuit of equality has kept women and marginalized communities chasing an elusive goal, reinforcing limiting gender binaries and identity politics. Advocating for freedom as the true liberator of feminism, Bianco introduces three freedom practices that empower women to reclaim their bodily autonomy. In this thought-provoking work, she challenges readers to consider what liberation from the notion of equality could mean for the future of the feminist movement.
