    Episode 116: Stop being triggered

Ever have one of those weeks where nothing’s wrong, but your just a little crunchy? Little things that normally pass you by are rubbing you the wrong way, and even though you might be having the adventure of a lifetime…your just not feeling it? Worse you’re annoyed that you’re annoyed!! This week we are getting real about being human, and how sometimes it is you, and sometimes it is the collective energy, the full moon and/or the planets aligning up just so to help you release and let go. Anyway it falls, it is always an opportunity to allow the energy, to let it move through you. To notice, to feel, to allow and ultimately to surrender. What we explore in this episode: * Why your emotions can feel more intense * The difference between observing your feelings and acting on them * How anxiety sneaks in (and why it’s okay to have off days) * Simple, body-based tools to bring yourself back into balance - like tapping, breathing, and even rubbing your ears * Lessons from mountain biking, grocery store meltdowns, and crashing * How awareness helps you shift from reacting to resetting This episode is a reminder that you don’t always need to fix your mood or force it to make sense. That it is in the surrender to what is that life’s magic can happen. Because it is always the right vibe, you are always in the right place. Follow the flow of life and tune out the narrator in your head and you will find the peace and love that you are yearning for. Do you ever reflect? not in a ruminating, I suck, let’s review all the ways that I failed kind of way. But in the helpful, let’s move forward, what can I create next kind of way? We are kicking off season 4!! of the podcast and figured that an episode on reflection, and how to do it positively was a great way to start. There is another way! In this episode we introduce a simple reflection practice you can do with a journal, a friend, or even just in your notes app. So let’s move forward together, get out of the weeds (cos it is fall and they are wet and mucky right now!!) and really notice all the progress you have made. You are always winning, and it’s important to see exactly where so that you can keep moving forward. Together we are going to..REFLECT with 3 simple questions. CELEBRATE and which will shift your energy fastSPOT what is working and do more of that! PLUS we will go behind the scenes: How Riding in the Weeds hit 900+ downloads in 90 daysAnd we are going to get real with what has been happening with us. As always it is an unfiltered conversation about what is happening with us and how our lessons could help you not fall into the same weeds as we have. Along with our strategies that have worked to keep us on the trail. Grab a pen and paper (or just your notes app) and play along - you’ll finish this episode with a few new insights, a little more self-compassion, and maybe even a few ideas for your next big win. Repost Episode 78: You are the magic you are looking for

Magic is always a topic worth coming back to. As a fanatical fantasy reader I believe that magic is real, dragons fly in the clouds and when we are ready to truly surrender and allow we can move to the timeline where it exists. This is an older episode worth revisiting. We talk about how a simple change in perspective can create a life that is a moment by moment easter egg hunt. Where you get to see everything through a lens that is magical. Joy, appreciation and adventure are not out there, they are within us. It just takes the courage to look. Join us as we dig into: * Why we often think magic only exists in new places * How shifting perspective can bring excitement to the everyday * The role of animals in teaching presence and gratitude * Simple ways to bring more joy into your daily routine * The power of mindset in shaping your experience Learning Points: * Magic isn’t about location -it’s about perception * You could travel the world, and you can also create timeless experiences through small daily habits. * Live in the now, take a lesson from the Animals around us * Taking action solves problems - if a problem has an action step, it’s not a problem! * Yup your in the weeds, so is everyone else. Resistance is what causes friction, not what is happening. Breathe through it instead of pushing against it. Episode 114: It's not perfect, do it anyway

How often do you hesitate, withdraw, stop yourself…because you didn’t think it was right? What is right? Life is not a performance, it is a practice. Do you ever find yourself so stuck on ‘getting it right’ that you don’t act at all? This week we are dismantling the idea that alignment has anything to do with getting it right. That in fact being in alignment might actually be about being in ‘practice’ with life. Giving it a go and seeing what works, meeting yourself where you are and letting life be your guide. There is so much expectation build around ‘showing up’ that often we are to scared to actually do so. So what does showing up actually mean? In yoga, in business, on the trail, and in life. Let’s quit with trying to get it right, and just be present to our experience. Because who is judging anyway? Natasha is again throwing out the rulebook and stepping into a new adventure without a parachute as she heads South to the sun. Truly embracing the art of practice not perfection. While Ginny is reconnecting with her yoga mat and learning not to trust her partners playlist, highlighting how often we confuse “pushing through” with progress. Together, we get into the weeds - where growth, fear, and trust collide. This weeks key takeaways: * Why alignment isn’t about perfect form - it’s about awareness * Staying true to yourself * What yoga, mountain biking, and entrepreneurship all have in common * When it isn’t really cheating * The importance of showing up imperfectly - for you and for others. * Throwing expectations out the window, I mean where did they come from anyway? No one has it all figured out so let’s just let that go, for good this time! This is your reminder, regardless of what you are pursuing, that alignment doesn’t mean it’s perfect, it means your having fun! Let’s get honest for a moment, any character in any show, any teacher of anything, if they show up all perfect, do you want to get closer or run for the hills. Exactly! So listen in and let us give you the permission to remember this is not a performance, it is all just a practice. It’s all just about finding joy, and if you can find that within, you’ll find it without. 🎧 Listen now and share with your friends! This is a public episode. Episode 113: Maybe you should quit!

You know that moment when you realize the thing you’re doing - the project, the plan, the path - just isn’t working? That pull in your gut that says, “This isn’t it,” but your brain pipes up with, “You can’t quit now.” This episode is for that moment. In Episode 113, we talk about changing direction, in life, in business, on the water, or on a horse and knowing it is not a story about failure or quitting. Sometimes its just not quite right. Whether it’s pivoting careers, ending a project, or deciding to paddle back to shore instead of pushing through the waves, this conversation explores how we can start trusting our gut and ditching the stories. We give you permission to change your mind and not having to give a reason. Because I wanted to is good enough! How we approach it: * The difference between changing direction and giving up * Why our culture equates “going back” with failure - and why that’s wrong * How ego, not intuition, often keeps us pushing through when we should pause * The power of listening to your gut (and what happens when you don’t) * Real stories - from horses, paddling, and mountain biking, that show why turning around can actually be the smartest move * How human design and intuition help us make better choices with less stress We are talking about the idea of not forcing, of knowing that your decision is your decision. You can quit, you can turn around, you can change direction. If you’ve ever felt like changing direction meant you failed, this episode will remind you that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is turn around. 🎧 Listen now on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. 🤝 Connect with Your Hosts 🎙️ Natasha Lockey – Business Builder & Mountain Bike Life Performance CoachInstagram: @bettygohardFacebook: Natasha LockeySubstack: natashalockey.substack.comPodcast site: ridingintheweeds.com 🦄 Ginny Brandon – Animal Communicator & Energy HealerWebsite: soulpetconnections.comInstagram: @soulpetconnectionsFacebook: Soul Pet ConnectionsYouTube: Soul Pet ConnectionsSubstack: soulpetconnections.substack.com This is a public episode. Episode 112: How to save mental energy and stop ruminating for good.

Do you get exhausted by the overthinking? The inability to just let something be? Us humans can be meaning making machines, but it actually doesn’t have to be that way. Just as we have trained ourselves to make everything mean something, we can actually train ourselves to not. It can can be said in many different ways, but simply being in the practice of letting things be what they are. Or in the words of Tash’s yoga instructor - don’t mind what happens. Imagine the freedom you’d have if you just dropped wasting energy on trying to dissect every little thing. That sideways comment, the barking dog, the yoga pose we can’t nail - we spin stories, assign meaning, and before we know it, we’re stressed, drained, and stuck in the weeds. In our conversation this week we are exploring the practice of letting it be what it is. This literally shows up everywhere! From yoga mats and mountain bike trails to conversations with clients and pets, we share how shifting your perspective can stop the energy leaks that keep you exhausted. Where our conversation takes us this week: * The wisdom of “I don’t mind what happens” and how it changes everything * Why making meaning is our biggest stress trap (and how to step out of it) * How human design, ADHD, and even astrology can reveal patterns that help us understand ourselves better * The role of emotional charge in challenges with our pets (and why dropping it creates real change) * Stories from yoga and mountain biking that highlight the difference between performance and practice * Why modifications, in yoga and in life, are not a weakness, but a way forward The idea is not to check out, but actually to check in. To notice where we add unnecessary layers of meaning, guilt, or judgment, and choosing instead to respond with a simple “so what, what’s next?” Looking for a reminder to hold things a little lighter and a way out of the overthinking trap, this conversation will give you some ideas on how to break the habit. To remind you that you have permission to let it be, so that you can make space for more lightness, balance, and joy. Episode 111: What is an angel number and why should I care?

Angel numbers. Synchronicities. Signs that make you stop and wonder, “Was that for me?” Episode 111 felt like the perfect time to lean into this conversation about noticing patterns, paying attention, and finding meaning in the small winks from the universe. We chat about signs, now we don’t get scientific, this conversation is more about being aware and not so much about superstition. How the little nudges - like triple digits on the clock, heart-shaped rocks, or a fox that keeps crossing your path - can help you shift your perspective when you need it most. What we highlight in this conversation: * Why repeating numbers and synchronicities feel so magical (and why they might show up for you) * How animals, nature, and even license plates can act as messengers when you’re paying attention * The fine line between seeing signs everywhere and letting awareness open your perspective * How shifting focus - from rumination to noticing - creates more lightness and joy in everyday life * Why meaning doesn’t always need to be deep; sometimes it’s just a smile from the universe Don’t worry we are not going down the you need to look up every number or follow every astrological chart before making a decision. It’s just a fun conversation about awareness - about staying open to the ways life reminds us to lighten up, shift our focus, and remember we’re supported in ways we don’t always see. Maybe your curious about signs, have friends that talk about them all the time or have never actually heard of 111 meaning anything. No matter what you’ll find this a fun conversation that will leave you smiling and maybe a little more open to magic in the everyday. Episode 110: Just because it's over doesn't mean you failed.

What if things ending meant they were successful? It’s like not using the good china, keeping the plastic on the furniture, or not wearing those new shoes. We’ve realized that living for now and using what we have makes sense but we are still stuck in a culture that tells us if it’s not forever, it’s a failure. We fear things ending and because of that we hold on to things well past their use by dates. And yes that includes the condiments in your fridge!! Relationships, jobs, businesses, even friendships - we have been told that if it ends, it somehow didn’t work. But what if that’s not true? What if endings are not failures, but completions? This week we get real about the illusion of “forever” and oh how it keeps us very much tangled in the weeds. Holding onto a relationship long past its time, dragging out a job that no longer fits, or staying in a place because leaving feels like losing. To be human is to understand this concept! And we sure have our share of stories to drive this point home!! And make you feel like you are not alone in this one. So here is to endings. Closing the Loop and creating new and exciting adventures in this short time we have here in this lifetime. Here’s what you’ll hear: * Why our culture equates “forever” with success - and why that belief doesn’t match real life * The cost of holding on too long (and the freedom that comes with letting go) * How endings create space for what’s next * The role of recommitment: choosing daily, not forever * Why redefining success helps us step out of the weeds and into growth This isn’t about avoiding commitment or chasing shiny objects. It’s about being in life’s seasons, cycles and chapters. When we stop measuring success by how long something lasts and start asking whether it still lights us up today, we give ourselves permission to grow, shift, and move on. And we ditch the guilt and fear associated with failure. If you’ve ever struggled with letting go - of a job, a friendship, a dream, or a relationship - this conversation will remind you that nothing blooms forever. And that doesn’t mean it failed. 🤝 Connect with Your Hosts: 🎙️ Natasha Lockey – Mountain Bike Life Performance Coach Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bettygohard Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NatashaLockey Substack: https://natashalockey.substack.com Podcast site: https://www.ridingintheweeds.com 🦄 Ginny Brandon – Animal Communicator & Energy Healer Website: https://www.soulpetconnections.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/soulpetconnections Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/soulpetconnections YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@soulpetconnections Substack: https://soulpetconnections.substack.com This is a public episode.
