Welcome to, “Right Here! Right Now!”, a podcast featuring all things Lacy J. Dalton. In this series, Lacy gets real with her manager, Leslie Adams, about life, love, faith, passion, teaching, and of course, music. Explore Lacy’s early years growing up in Pennsylvania, her move out west to California, her stint in Nashville, and her reason for relocating to Nevada. Find out about her wild and crazy love life, the successes and failures, and how they found their way into her music. Get a glimpse into her deep beliefs and the way they guide her in every facet of life. Learn about her passion for animals, and about her foundation to save the wild horses. Hear stories from the road, favorite memories of some of the legends of the business, and how she became known as one of the outlaws. Take a look inside a maximum-security prison where Lacy taught songwriting to “level 4” inmates. Go behind the scenes on some of your favorite songs (and some you may not have heard), see what inspired them, and discover the real meaning in the lyrics. We’ll explore it all in this podcast. Lacy’s taste in music spans a number of genres – from Folk music to Psychedelic Rock n’ Roll, from Country to Southern Rock, and from Americana to what she calls “extraterrestrial” or “other-worldly” – each has a place in her musical repertoire and in her heart. Lacy has opened for superstars like Hank Williams, Jr., Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Charlie Daniels; toured with greats like Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson and Bobby Bare; and recorded duets with people like George Jones, Willie Nelson, Bobby Bare, Glen Campbell, Eddie Rabbit, David Allen Coe, and many others. Even after winning several music awards, writing many top 100 singles, and touring with the greats of the industry, Lacy is as down to earth and real as it gets (well, except for that little part of her that she thinks is alien!) So, have a listen and see what you think. This is Lacy J. Dalton, Right Here! Right Now!

The Story Behind Lacy’s New Song, “I Can’t Breathe”

”I Can’t Breathe” is a very timely song given what has been on the news so much lately.  In Lacy’s words: This song shot out of me like the tears that shot out of my eyes watching what I saw on the TV again and again.  And because of the sensitivity around the issue, we […]

    Carl the Christmas Dog

    Carl the Christmas Dog

Several years ago, I started writing a Christmas song each year to perform in my Christmas shows.  One year there was an “incident” with a dog I rescued named Carl, and that became the subject of that year’s song.  There’s quite a story behind how I came to end up with Carl, and how one […]
