Skills for Success in the Marketplace

Skills for success in the market place  1. Spiritual Some people believe we’re just an extension and an advanced form of  the animal species, but I believe humans are unique. I believe our  spiritual qualities make us different from all other creations. Now I  consider myself an amateur in this area, but regardless of your  background, I think you should evaluate what growth and change you want  to make in this vital area. Spiritual and ethical values will help build  a strong foundation underneath your quest for wealth and happiness. I would recommend you be a student of the spiritual side of your  nature. Make sure you study, practice and teach. Don’t be careless about  this because it’s what makes us who we are, different from dogs, cats,  birds and mice. Whatever you have to read and assimilate to develop in  this area, I would strongly suggest you do. 2. Physical The body and mind work together. And for your mind to have the  stamina to strive, your body should be in as good shape as possible. You’ve heard the phrase, “Treat your body like a temple.” A  temple—not a bad word. Something you would take extremely good care of.  Treat your body like a temple, not a woodshed, right? A temple. Take  good care of it. The only house we have to live in is the physical body, and that’s  part of success in the marketplace. That’s physical well-being. It’s  feeling good about yourself physically so that you stride into the  marketplace with a sense of self-worth and self-confidence, and it  covers several parts. Do you have a regular exercise program? If not, find one you can  follow and get started. In addition, make sure you pay attention to the  food you eat. Read all the books about nutrition to make up your own  mind and decide for yourself a good health plan for you. Then there’s physical appearance. Be skillful enough to take care of  your appearance in the marketplace. It has a lot to do with your  acceptance. A big share of it is how you appear to other people—on the  job, in the community. There’s a saying that goes, “God looks on the  inside, and people look on the outside.” That’s not a bad suggestion,  meaning: Take care of the inside for God, and take care of the outside  for people. Maybe you think people shouldn’t judge you by your  appearance. Well, let me tell you, they do! Don’t base your life on should and shouldn’t.  Only base your life on realities. Sure, when people get to know you,  they’ll judge you by more than what they see, but at first, they’re  going to take a look. Now, I’ve got another good phrase for you. It says, “Be conscious of  self, but not self-conscious.” There’s a certain point that we need to  be conscious of ourselves, take care of it, then let it go. Some people  worry about their appearance all day, and it detracts rather than adds.  So take care of it and then let it go. Do the best you can and let that  get the job done. Be conscious of ourselves, but not to the point of  being self-conscious. 3. Mental The third part to personal development is the mind—stretching your  mind, developing good thinking habits, good study habits, pursuing  ideas, and trying to find ways to apply them to human behavior and the  marketplace. All of that takes exercising the mind, which is what I call  mind-stretch. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/robert-lyon/support

    Personal Development Management

    1. Developing a Personal Vision Personal development can simply be for fun. Most of us, however,  find it easier to motivate ourselves to learn and improve if we have a  purpose in doing so. Developing your personal vision - a clear idea of  where you want to be in a few months or years, and why - is a crucial  part of developing this purpose. 2. Planning Your Personal Development Once you are clear about where you want to be, you can start  planning how to get there. Drawing up a personal development plan is not  essential, but it does make the planning process more realistic. For more about this part of the process, take a look at our page on planning your personal development plan. If you are struggling to identify which areas to target for  development and improvement and doing a personal SWOT analysis. 3. Starting the Improvement Process There are a number of different ways in which you can learn and develop. Our page on improving personal development explains some ways of learning, including a technique called expertise transfer. 4. Recording Your Personal Development It is often a good idea to keep a record of your personal  development. By writing down key developments in your learning and  development as and when they occur, you will be able to reflect on your  successes at a later date. This reflection may well help to motivate you to learn more skills  in the future. Try keeping a learning log or journal as you develop your  skills and knowledge. 5. Reviewing and Revising Personal Development Plans For more effective learning, it is important to reflect on your  experience, and consider what you have learnt from it. Regular review of  your personal development plans, and your development activities, will  ensure that you learn from what you have done. It will also ensure that  your activities continue to move you towards your goals, and that your  goals or vision remain relevant to you. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/robert-lyon/support

    How To Focus 2020

It’s important to focus in 2020 and how you do this is you break your time down and 45 or 90 minute chunks why you do this you said this time up for yourself to do the best work you possibly can with no distractions to be focused is to have your whole body mind and spirit working on one important task one meaningful goal this is focus. In a world full of distraction To be able to focus is godly and if you can do this you will see significant success because focus true focus is priceless. Before you sit out on any projects it’s important to meditate first it’s important to let go to be free to do your work. Let go of all the noise that is completely a relevant in this moment let go of the opinions of others and your ego and simply say that you were going to be focused for the next 90 minutes so that you can get the most out of your time today. After you meditate get a glass of water and sit down and tell yourself I’m not gonna stop for nothing not water not a phone call not a notification I’m just going to focus. Now when you’re working you can put in headphones or earplugs or any other noise canceling objects or free space that you can figure out or have whatever best suits you through your optimum time to focus and get your work done. Being someone who can focus will change your life and make it so you can take steps towards creating the life you want so practice focus see it as a skill that you can build on that you can work out and that you can use. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/robert-lyon/support
