Rosie and Jessica’s Day of Fun

Like a cup of tea with two good friends, Rosie and Jessica’s Day of Fun is a chat between two sisters about the things they do and make and see.
It sounds like a cup of tea feels.

I, too, found this podcast through the Two Bossy Dames. So glad I did, and at the perfect time. It was the week after the election and I had just finished Carry on by Rainbow Rowell for the second time. I needed something to take the edge off. This podcast is beautiful, cozy, and fierce British magic and it will get you through the dark times. Clarification: This podcast is not affiliated with Simon Snow or Rainbow Rowell or magic (?), but it reminds me of these things. It's also completely original and just about two women living in the world day by day and trying to make it better through knitting and baking and top five lists.
I want to hang with these ladies!

Major props to the Mistress of the .Gif, Margaret H. Willison whose newsletter directed me to this wonderful British podcast last fall. These sisters are just delightful and I really do wish I could hang out with them, watching all our favorite shows and movies and learning yarn crafts. I wish there was a word that would encapsulate how rad and sweet these sisters are.
Podcast of Fun!!

This podcast is pretty much the audio equivalent of a very twee and delightful lifestyle blog with a fair amount of pop culture thrown in. I have a pretty crippling case of swooning Anglophilia (and spent time studying abroad in England during my college years), so most of what I love about this is the Britishness of it all, but Rosie and Jessica are also quite funny and have given me all sorts of ideas for things to read, watch, listen to, bake, and knit (once I get around to learning how to knit). The tone of the podcast is very personal and personable but never veers into the solipsistic or narcissistic—it’s just so friendly and warm, even when they’re talking about things like their family gatherings or making inside jokes. Basically a total delight. Right up there with Cadbury’s and choral works by John Rutter on the list of completely lovely British exports. (p.s. I would totally purchase a badge that says Oh My Greyhounds for actual cash money. For what that’s worth.)
New Favorite Podcast!

This is now the #1 podcast that I look forward to twice a month. Rosie and Jessica are entertaining, funny, quirky, quick-witted, smart, creative and tons of fun. I want them to be my friends. And I’m pretty picky when it comes to friends. Keep up the great work, Rosie and Jessica!
