Everton 777 bullet dodged! Man City APT Ruling! Next run of fixtures vital!

For Evertonians, there is cause for some hope and optimism at last. With new ownership and a new stadium on the horizon there is the sense that the tide is beginning to turn in the Toffees’ favour. It comes on the back of the news regarding 777 Partners, the investment firm that had come close to purchasing Everton, now fallen into bankruptcy. Just how much of a narrow escape was it for the Blues.  In other news, Manchester City have seemingly won a battle in the longstanding war with the Premier League over FFP/PSR. A ruling over APT, Associated Party Transactions went in favour of the sky blue club.  Ian Croll is joined by Chris Beesley for Friday’s Live Royal Blue Podcast as they discuss all of the above, plus plenty more. Including the vital run of fixtures following the international break. Everton FC podcasts from the Liverpool ECHO’s Royal Blue YouTube channel. Anders Limpar Special: My Boyhood Dream | Goodison Park: My Home

Chris Beesley speaks to Anders Limpar, the man described by Everton’s last trophy-winning manager Joe Royle as “A football genius” and “the most-talented player I ever worked with,” in the latest episode of Goodison Park: My Home. Despite hailing from Solna, on the edge of Sweden’s capital city of Stockholm, Limpar, explains how he was actually a boyhood Blue with his affiliation with Everton going back much longer than his three-year playing stint with the club between 1994-97.  The 59-year-old, who had already been a League Championship winner with Arsenal before he came to Merseyside, speaks poignantly about his friendship with the late Kevin Campbell and also recalls the scramble for his signature when his time at Highbury came to an end. Limpar speaks candidly about his part in ‘The Great Escape’ against Wimbledon, the change of manager from Mike Walker to Joe Royle, winning the FA Cup against Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United and his combination both on and off the field with fellow winger Andrei Kanchelskis who inadvertently helped him to learn Russian. It’s another generous portion of True Blue nostalgia with our 10th guest so far as we celebrate the final season of ‘The Grand Old Lady’ with one of her greatest mercurial talents. Branthwaite Injury! Newcastle Predictions! Dele Alli Setback!

Everton have been dealt a double injury blow ahead of their game with Newcastle United this Saturday.  Jarrad Branthwaite is facing a fitness battle and is to be assessed ahead of the game. The centre-back returned to action at the weekend, producing a solid comeback as the Blues secured their first win of the Premier League season with a comeback victory over Crystal Palace. But whether he will be available for the Newcastle game, which takes place at 5.30pm on Saturday, is now in doubt due to the emergence of what is thought to be a quad issue that is in the process of being assessed. In other injury news, Dele Alli has suffered a minor setback in his efforts to return to fitness. The 28-year-old is dealing with a muscle strain endured after he stepped up his rehabilitation work at Everton's Finch Farm training ground this summer. Join Ian Croll, Gav Buckland and Joe Thomas as they sit down in the Royal Blue Studio to discuss all of the above and give their predictions for Saturday’s encounter.  Everton FC podcasts from the Liverpool ECHO’s Royal Blue YouTube channel. Newcastle United Preview! Does Sean Dyche change a winning team?

Everton welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Saturday evening on the back of their first win of the season.  A Dwight McNeil brace was enough to ensure the Blues took home all three points for the first time this season.  With Newcastle fast approaching, Ian Croll and Connor O’Neill sit down in the Royal Blue studio for a live podcast to look ahead to what is expected to be an intriguing encounter.   Does Sean Dyche change a winning team? What does that winning team even look like considering the changes he made at half-time.  Connor and Ian pick their team as well as discuss the latest on Jarrad Branthwaite’s Everton future, plus plenty more.  Everton FC podcasts from the Liverpool ECHO’s Royal Blue YouTube channel. Palace Preview! Friedkin Deal! Southall Warning!

Everton’s challenging start to the season continues on Saturday afternoon as the Blues welcome Crystal Palace, with both teams looking for their first win of the season.  The news of an impending takeover at Goodison Park from The Friedkin Group has certainly lifted the spirits amongst Blues’ fans this week, however it’s on the pitch where Everton now need to put things right.  Sean Dyche may well be back to full strength given that Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson featured for the U21s on Sunday.  Branthwaite’s return can’t come soon enough given the fact Everton have leaked goals in their opening five games.  On today’s show, Ian Croll is joined by Tony Scott as they look ahead to Crystal Palace, picking their starting 11 for the match as well as giving their predictions.  Also on today’s show the lads discuss the takeover and what this means for Sean Dyche and the club as a whole. Finally, the lads talk over the comments from former Everton goalkeeper and club legend, Neville Southall.  All that and more on today’s Royal Blue Podcast.  Everton FC podcasts from the Liverpool ECHO’s Royal Blue YouTube channel.
