    32: Fashions That Haunt Us

This week, Riley and Sid take a detour from last week's heavy subject matter to talk 90s and 2000s fashion trends. Join them as they discuss useless, tiny bags, low-rise jeans, skinny scarves and other staples from the past. Sid also spends some time dog-shaming Riley for her accidental auction purchase and the gals take a quiz naming their 2000s style icon (and accuse Buzzfeed of lazy quiz-writing.) Do these styles of yester-year hold up? It doesn't really matter, because they're coming back anyways!

31: Quiet on Set (blame is not divisible, Dan)

31: Quiet on Set (blame is not divisible, Dan)

Sid and Riley discuss a cornerstone of childhood pop culture: Nickelodeon. Why does the episode on kids' programming have every trigger warning ever? For starters, you can point your finger at child exploitation, sexism and Dan Schneider (who will be pointing his finger at everyone else.)
This episode covers sensitive and disturbing topics. Listener discretion is advised.
Resources include the heartbreaking documentary: Quiet on Set.

30: Napoleon Dynamite feat. Deb's Side Ponytail

It's episode 30, guys! Riley and Sid discuss a 2000s classic film: Napoleon Dynamite. As usual, there are many side tangents about themselves, including a haunting photo of Sid (watch social for that) and trends they couldn't pull off, but influencers can. Shove some tots in your pocket, because you might need a snack while you listen. Most importantly, VOTE FOR PEDRO!

    28: Y2K - Procrastination, Pastors & a very special K-9

This week, Sid and Riley revisit Y2K through a jaded, millennial lens and think...they've been through worse. Massive computer crashes and global end times were predicted when the clock struck midnight on New Years Day, 2000. Was the panic a result of bad planning and overzealous religious leaders? Or did Clinton's Y2K Justice League save the day? Or maybe, just maybe, did a cybersmart K-9 lurking in early internet chatrooms keep the millennium bug at bay? You decide. Or just listen.

So fun and nostalgic!

As a fellow nostalgia podcaster, this show is in my top rotation right now. The sisters’ chemistry is of course amazing, and the episodes are always hilarious and enjoyable unlocking buried millennial memories left and right. Loving it! - Clarissa, 30 D&D podcast cohost

An entertaining podcast from two sisters reminiscing over their childhood.

“Ruining Our Childhood” is a fun look back at pop culture of the 90s and 2000s through the eyes of two sisters. Riley and Cassidy are our hosts and it’s clear that these two sisters share a close bond as their chemistry and humor reminiscing over their childhood bleeds through discussions of their favorite childhood shows, artists and pop culture events. Each episode is vastly different than the last and it’s great how the sisters take turns on the topic of their weekly episode. Overall, it’s a fun listen and a podcast I’d recommend for anyone who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s.
