Sean Penn is one of the greatest actors of our time. He’s won the Academy Award for Best Actor twice — for “Milk” in 2009 and for “Mystic River” in 2004. And he has received numerous awards for many other films such as “Dead Man Walking”, “Casualties of War” and "21 Grams."

He currently has a new film out that he directed and stars in, “Flag Day.” It’s a beautiful movie, featuring his daughter Dylan Penn.

Sean founded the non-profit, Community Organized Relief Effort (or CORE). He has criss-crossed this country this past year helping with Covid relief, creating up-up sites that have distributed 1.7 million vaccine shots in underserved areas.

Chris Hedges is one of the great journalists, thinkers, war reporters and truth-tellers of our time. He won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on global terrorism while at the New York Times, who later fired him for speaking out against the Iraq war.

He joins Michael to speak on Afghanistan, the collapse of the American empire, the upcoming 9/11 anniversary, and the end of abortion rights in Texas (and around the U.S.)

Hedges was a war correspondent for many years and has seen awful human degradation, societies in collapse, social bonds being ruptured, and people turning to “self-destructive behavior and magical thinking.” Alarmingly, he sees all of these signals of decay here in America.

Hedges has also studied the Evangelical Christian Right in America and wrote a prescient book in 2008 titled, “American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America.” He details the decades-long battle on women’s reproductive rights, the cynical and dishonest methods used to restrict access to abortion and how this pernicious form of fascism has only grown stronger since that book was published.

However, as a teacher, an ordained Presbyterian minister, and a graduate from Harvard’s Divinity School, Hedges draws on the teachings of great philosophers and theologians to lay out a moral imperative for solidarity and struggle and explains why we must not succumb to despair.

Within days after the U.S. losing its longest-ever war, its new President stepped in, and in less than two weeks, evacuated thousands of Americans to safety — and over 100,000 Afghan refugees. In the face of knowing that ISIS — sworn enemy of both the Taliban and the Pentagon — was planning to disrupt the peaceful evacuation in Kabul, Biden and his team organized hundreds of flights, in and out of Kabul, to Germany, Italy, Spain and four Gulf States. He ordered United, Delta and four other American airlines  to fork over 18 commercial jumbo jets to assist in the evacuation, immediately setting  up refugee housing villages at Ft. Bliss in Texas, and bases in New Jersey, Wisconsin and Virginia. And he oversaw private negotiations with the Taliban to secure as best possible the safety of every single American and Afghan refugee. The result? Not one single American or Afghan, who helped America,  has been killed by the Taliban. Not one plane shot down. And in spite of the ISIS-K suicide bombings, Biden has not flinched, not retreated, not backed down. He has forged ahead with his evacuation plan with the help of the Taliban. *The help of the Taliban!* Biden is a genius to have pulled this off.

Bernie campaigner Michael Moore, here on this episode of his RUMBLE podcast, dissects how Biden has saved tens of thousands of lives — and his reward is to be pilloried by the same pro-war press that got us into this mess and by an American public that has turned its back on him. “We deserve what we get,” says Mike in his blistering, spot-on defense of a President he didn’t want to vote for.

Podcast #211: Reuniting w/Lila Lipscomb & Abdul Henderson:

I saw the interviews after the Friday showing of your movie. They were very brave to speak to you and say it all on film 17 years ago and we need more people to speak up today like they did back then!

Podcast #210: Sean Penn

Coronavirus Testing and helping out in Haiti and all the while using HIS OWN $$$$? Where is his Noble Peace Prize or Presidential Medal Of Freedom w/Distinction for this man?

Podcast #209: It’s Time For “Sublime Madness” (w/Chris Hedges):

This is some disturbing “stuff!” The Religious Right and their political supporters are a dangerous bunch. Please people, vote these crazy elected officials OUT in 2022 and 2024!

Podcast #208: The Miracle Of Kabul:

All I can say is we were going to eventually leave one day. The President, his team including our soldiers did the best they could under the circumstances. As of 09/06/2021 100,000+ evacuated? Proceed accordingly Mr. President!

Podcast #207: Empire Down In Afghanistan (w/ Vijay Prashad, U.S. Army Col. Ann Wright & Jon Schwartz):

This is just sad. “Stop The Madness,” you say, Michael? How do you get the Military Industrial Complex from craving that money from the US Treasury? I own stock in NONE of these companies!

Podcast #206: A Letter Is Launched - Special Announcement From Michael Moore:

I signed up for your newsletter. This statement you made about the “Superspreaders Of Hate & Ignorance” is just going to piss off a lot of people - and you should piss these complacent people off. In the USA, if it doesn’t affect us, we don’t care. I guess that’s what these people think but many issues DO AFFECT THEM! Voting, Climate Change, Police Misconduct, Abortion or Laws Passed or Not Passed Locally or DC AFFECT EVERYONE! I look forward to every newsletter.

Oh, one more thing: Ari Melber and Ali Velshi are just not true journalists. Please stop going on these shows. They ARE NOT serious about informing us on how to right this sinking ship we are all on! 09/05/2021 I watched Alex Whitt Reports when you came on. I shook my head in total discuss. You gave an uninterrupted explanation of the significance of the General walking up the stairs to the plane facing forward but then Alex tries to pit you against the nay-sayers. These “journalists” trying to create controversy just makes me want to vomit! They don’t want that negative heat coming at them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram so they bring you on to say what they are afraid to say.

Podcast #205: Massive Cover-Ups, Wiped Phones, Brown Water and Democrats Protecting Republicans:

Why do men like Lauer, Moonves, Mike Richards, Haden and Good Morning America’s Michael Corn accumulate power, stay in power and harass people? Because they can and as I explained in my email regarding

Podcast #204 - They Are Aided & Abetted!!

The worst move in the Obama Presidency was drink that water that wasn’t even Flint Tap Water! What you and Jordan discussed here is just “Standard Procedure” regarding how communities look like this are treated by the powers that be. Let’s face it: The goal of Governor Snyder and the appointed city manager was to kill off as many people as possible! These elected politicians and officials need to be charged, convicted and sent to Federal Prison! As for the lack of media investigation, they don’t do serious journalism anymore. It’s all about entertainment and not upsetting the people who buy ads.

Podcast #203: Rebecca Traister, Part 1:

The most important thing she talked about was the people for whom street protesting against injustice is not an integral part of their lives and they are always on the side of the privileged and winning. I saw this a lot in my formal hometown. Some people have it so easy and want to keep it that way. They need to wake up before the powerful come after them as well.

Podcast #202: The Anti-Vax Movement’s Public Enemy #1 with Dr. Peter Hotel:

Well, all I can see is people need to do what they think is in the best interest of their health and the safety of others.

I have not had a cold or any other type of respiratory issue since October 2019, I’m one of those people who utilizes all natural health remedies, I have none of the co-morbidities I exercise 2-4 hours at a clip per day, I ate 95% Organic and Non-GMO, I have not gotten the “Jab” and will not be, BUT, I WILL CONTINUE TO WEAR MY MASK IN PUBLIC AROUND 95% of the people I see EVERYDAY who do not wear one, even in crowded Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s!

I also follow many alternative medicine professionals who have been sounding the alarm about the “mysterious respiratory illness” sweeping Wuhan as the China Government remained closed mouth back in December 2019. I laughed as the news trickled into US media in January 2020 but it was downplayed by the networks and Trump (listen to the Bob Woodward Tapes)! By the time this whole thing blew up, my immune system was ready. I’ve been wearing a mask since March 2020.. I’m going to keep up my regimen, minus the Pfizer, Moderna, J&J Jan’s or a Booster!

PorkyPiglet ,

This movie was so goddamn important to me. What shocks me more than anything is all the white hot hate we had for ambush cannot compare to what we’re seeing now. Bush is a meek, good man compared to the absolute fascist scum sucking Trumpers we’re now dealing with. I think the anger we had for Bush was our fear of what was coming today. Republicans are truly grotesque toward every aspect of humanity. Their theft of God and the Flag is sickening.
