Interview With Evil: Ted Bundy's FBI Confessions

Interesting content on an admittedly tired subject. I don’t think these tapes are quite as rare as you purport, but the added context is somewhat interesting. My gripe is with the sound design. Why you saw fit to have stereotypical ‘crime music’ play over your narration, expert opinions and the low-fi tapes themselves is beyond me. Especially when you consider this podcast seems to be recorded at a low volume to begin with. If your a fan of extreme true crime and abnormal psych; give it a listen if you think you can mentally tune out the soundtrack.

Just let the tapes roll, I don’t know why there was really annoying music added and opinions on what was said. I have ears, I don’t need you to tell me that TB was a risk taker… I think we’re way past that point by how many women he abducted and killed on what risks he is willing to take. I don’t know why the tape was paused so many times to add such useless comments is my point. There’s also a lot of audio missing, fuller versions of the TB confession tapes can be found on YouTube and on google.

It’s the comprehensive dive into crimes that true crime junkies crave. I’ve never heard another like it. I only have one issue that for some reason, I feel compelled to say it. There’s an interview with an expert, particularly on episode eight, that strikes me as ignorance. Because she spoke with another killer, she assumes all work in the same general way. Obviously, there are variations, but the general direction is the same. She says Bundy had to have killed before 1974 because she felt he would’ve had stumbles. I’m no serial killer expert, but she doesn’t think he thought about everything he wanted to do? Isn’t that the nature of a psychopath? The reason society is fascinated by Bundy and others like him is because they don’t think like the rest of us. To assume they think the same since they’re not like us is absurd. The rest of the show is top notch. I recommend to everyone
