We’ve heard a lot about “vulnerable people” during the pandemic but this portion of our population is much larger and more diverse than we often imagine. In this episode, Chris and Eric sit down with Jasmine Duckworth (@stressed_out_hippo) to talk about how, despite the fact that one in five Canadians identify as disabled, the disabled community is often overlooked and ignored. Jasmine shares with us some of the ways that the people we have often referred to as “shut-ins” have actually been “shut-out” of society and helps us think about ways to build a new normal that doesn’t leave vulnerable people behind. -- Jasmine's bio: Jasmine Duckworth has served people who experience disability for 15 years at Christian Horizons where she works to nurture communities of belonging for people with disabilities. Jasmine is disabled herself and brings that personal experience to her work in supporting others with disabilities. She is also a contributor and editor for the Faith and Disability Forum.
