DR. VICTOR SANTIAGO PINEDA is a globally recognized leader in innovation, inclusion, and
accessibility. He is a distinguished humanitarian, inspirational speaker, and a leading expert in smart city
development. He is a two-time presidential appointee by US President Barack Obama, government
delegate for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Habitat’s New Urban Agenda, World
Economic Forum council member, Chancellor’s Post-Doctoral Fellow for Academic Diversity at UC
Berkeley, and Research Fellow at the World Institute on Disability and Public Policy Fellow at the
Dubai School of Government. With an extensive background in academia, advocacy, and social impact

During Obama’s administration, Dr. Pineda received two appointments, including a role on the
