Too fragmented
06/01/2023
Please just do less updates with longer episodes. The fragmentation interrupts the fluidity of the narrative and it doesn't have the same impact. I used to listen to this podcast religiously until the show format changed. Every time I'm starting to become invested, the episode ends or there there is an ad. A lot of times there are multiple ads in 1 episode which is insane because shows with longer episodes will go 2 of this show's episode lengths for 1 ad. Also I like to listen to podcasts when I am working on tasks so it's inefficient for me to need to fast forward constantly but I'm also not going to listen to an MTV amount of ads. I have decided I am finally unfollowing this show because the format does not meet my podcast standards anymore. Sad to say goodbye.
Great with exception of format

WHY the short, fragmented episodes? I like the show, but the format has discouraged me from listening.
Tedious

This was once my absolute favorite podcast. However, Season 8 is essentially unlistenable...first of all, the Alex Murdaugh trial ended a year ago, so the extreme delay automatically makes this less compelling. Second, prior seasons included commentary from legal experts and analysis. Now, this pod seems to just let the testimony play with little thought to its evidentiary value. Finally, I just suffered through three--THREE--episodes of a forensic expert saying "the DNA matter was interpreted as coming from three individuals, and was eleventy zillion times more likely that person X and person Y contributed to the mixture." Literally that's all she says. Over and over for an hour combined. And there are more episodes coming...Because she hasn't been crossed yet. It's beyond boring, doesn't tell a coherent story, and could have been summed up in one sentence by the host. The show now seems to think listeners want to hear complete testimony from every witness whereas prior seasons did a much better job summarizing what was less relevant and focusing on the more important aspects. It's really too bad, because there is such potential for this type of pod.
Stop with short episodes

The new shorter highly edited episodes have made this show more frustrating than it’s worth. It used to be a great binge to be able to play and hear long segments of trial coverage. Please just release an episode a week that actually provides enough content to follow along rather than a clip every 2-3 days that makes it difficult to remember especially with technical testimony.
