    In Season 4 Episode 6, Liz Gallo, CEO of WhyMaker, chats with Tori Cameron about teaching maker ed in all different types of classrooms and the importance of design thinking. Liz is the CEO of WhyMaker a New York based organization that aims to bring maker ed to schools and classrooms all around the world. Liz has taught technology and engineering, STEM-based project-based learning, and design thinking. She loves to help schools engage in maker education and create makerspaces. Liz has worked with students and teachers all over the world, and her insight into the world of maker ed is fascinating. Tori and Liz talk about how teachers can make changes in their classrooms to involve more hands-on making opportunities for all types of students. They chat about how design thinking and empathy can create deeper learning opportunities for students to master content. Tori and Liz discuss education policy at the classroom, state, and federal levels, and how simple changes can drastically change students' capacity to learn, make and feel happier. There is so much self-care in STEAM and Tori and Liz end the episode discussing the importance of mental health through STEAM. This episode is phenomenal and honest.
