S4 Ep. 6: Former Teacher turned Entrepreneur: Elevating Literacy Instruction for Teachers and Students ft. Megan of The Literacy Dive

S4 Ep. 6: Former Teacher turned Entrepreneur: Elevating Literacy Instruction for Teachers and Students ft. Megan of The Literacy Dive Description: Join us for a special episode of the Teachers Who Quit Podcast as we speak with Megan, a former teacher turned TpT seller and literacy expert. Megan is the creator of The Literacy Dive, a one-stop shop for engaging, hands-on literacy resources that help students develop a love for reading and writing. In this episode, Megan shares her journey from the classroom to entrepreneurship, and offers valuable insights on how to elevate literacy instruction in your own classroom or TpT business. Megan Polk is a literacy specialist living in Nashville, Tennessee. She has over a decade of teaching experience across elementary grades. Having taught kindergarten, second, and fourth grade, Megan gained a true love for upper elementary when she realized how large the learning gap was for so many third-, fourth-, and 5th-grade students; many would enter her classroom at a first- or second-grade level. She viewed every challenge as an opportunity and made it a personal mission to set out and do whatever it took to grow her students. She ventured on to become an interventionist where she serviced students, kindergarten through fifth grade, in the areas of reading and writing. This also afforded her the opportunity to work alongside other teachers as they worked to grow their understanding and effectiveness in literacy instruction. Whether you're a teacher looking to try something new or a former teacher turned entrepreneur looking to make a difference, this episode is not to be missed!
