Truly a good pod. They let each other talk without too much interruption and they have great psychological, philosophical, and artistic analysis. Humor, too. Much better than the other pod with the famous guys which is just impossible to listen to with any pleasure. Well done.
Great podcast & they see the dark humor

Some of their commentary makes me laugh out loud. It’s wonderful how they tap into the fact that this show is a dark comedy in many ways and I appreciate their commentary. I love how they bring a fresh take to it and I say this as someone who has watched sopranos at least 15 times.
Top 5 Sopranos Pods

I’ve listened to many Sopranos pods including Talking Sopranos. If you are new to the show and really want to understand why The Sopranos is probably the most brilliantly written series ever, this the Pod you should start with. There are no spoilers so you can watch the episode and then tune in to the pod to dive deeply into the many facets of the show that took me a few re-watches to fully comprehend . I found this pod because I wanted to find like minded fans to dissect a pivotal scene in my favorite episode (Amour Fou). Although the 3 hosts didn’t dissect it as much as I would have loved, their breakdown of the episode had me hooked. This is a must listen if you appreciate writing, directing or all things AV.
A hit is (almost) a hit

I’m watching The Sopranos for the first time at the ripe old age of 40 and enjoying it way more than I expected to. Partway into the first season, I went looking for a companion podcast to enhance the experience and allow me to go deeper into the show. I was elated to find your podcast! Throughout the first season, it avoided what I saw as a pitfall of almost all podcasts based on TV shows, which is to give a play-by-play plot recap. Instead, the three of you had what was obviously (and refreshingly) an engaged, engaging, enthusiastic, and insightful exchange of ideas, with some inevitable plot references and touch points as scaffolding. I loved it so, so much, and it opened my eyes to fascinating aspects of the show. Then, somewhere in season 2, this changed and I don’t know why. The vast majority of the show is now Chris offering that play-by-play plot summary, with Paul and Jordan just barely jumping in to offer a quick opinion or insight. It’s no longer a critical discussion among the three of you about the things that your listeners can’t get simply by watching the show, and it makes me sad! If someone is electing to listen to a 1+hour podcast about an episode of a TV show, you can be fairly certain that they’ve watched the episode of that show, maybe even very recently, and the plot is the least interesting or important thing about the discussion. I realize this is a long post. Please just know how much your insightful conversations meant to me, and how very much I hope they return as I make my way through your podcast. Thanks for sharing your love of this show!
