"Well, and maybe that ties into something here as I went through this, Dave, like for me, getting down to this place of, yes, he once thought they were valuable, but now he considers them worthless because of what Christ has done. That's verse seven. Then it says, yes, everything is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord. I kind of felt like he's not saying that they have no, that all these things have no place whatsoever. He's just saying compared to knowing Jesus, they're worthless."

"And so it's just a fascinating thing that I think God is leading us through these processes of discovery of the deeper things, the deepest things, the things that really truly matter that cause us and will probably continue to cause us to have moments of saying, I kind of once thought that was valuable."

"One thinks it's a wall, one thinks it's a tree stump, and one thinks it's a snake, and they're all right, but their perspectives are not complete."

"When truth is a person that's always on the move."

"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, all of us are in need of Jesus."

What a Blessing

I appreciate this podcast. Other than the fact that I love, respect and appreciate these 3 pastors - I love the insight they share here. 3 learned men sharing their perspectives on what they are going to share in the next week’s sermon. I also do listen to the sermons from all 3 campuses (Portland, Redlands, Chattanooga.) A more rounded picture of God’s Word. These down to earth men elevate God’s Word in an easy to understand way and makes one hunger to learn more.
