Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we’re just having some fun at the Bible’s expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we’re going to hell over.

Ezekiel Chapter 7: Bible Study BY Atheists

Ezekiel Chapter 7: Bible Study BY Atheists

Join us for a rollicking ride through the biblical doom-fest that is Ezekiel Chapter 7, where the good book decides that subtlety is for the weak and goes all in with its favorite pastime: smiting with extreme prejudice. If you thought the Old Testament had run out of ways to express its divine rage, think again! This episode of our snark-filled podcast is a deep dive into the repetitious realm of holy fury and mortal screw-ups that would make even a Quentin Tarantino flick look like child's play.
Our hosts, the ever-skeptical duo armed with irreverence and a hefty dose of critical thinking, tackle the latest chapter of Ezekiel with the same enthusiasm one might reserve for a dental appointment without anesthesia. They wax eloquent on the ever-popular themes of God's anger management issues, the art of divine overkill, and the ancient Israelites' apparent hobby of collecting detestable practices like they're going out of style.
In this episode, we dissect the ancient prophet's colorful yet monotonous warnings that could give Groundhog Day a run for its money. The biblical writers hit us over the head with a 'the end is nigh' placard so many times, it's a wonder there's any head left to hit. We question the over-the-top depictions of a God who seems to have missed the memo on proportional response, as He dials the destruction up to eleven for offenses that, let's be honest, wouldn't even warrant a misdemeanor in today's courts.
We don't shy away from controversy either. Just when you thought mixing religion and politics was last season's faux pas, we take a stab at the current affairs like the proposed Billy Graham statue in the Capitol, proving that idolatry is alive and well, and living in Washington D.C. It's a conversation that promises to walk the line between the separation of church and state with the grace of a drunk tightrope walker.
For those of you who've grown numb to the biblical narrative's penchant for violence and retribution, you're in good company. Our hosts' commentary provides a refreshing alternative to the scripture's somber tone, turning what could be a snooze-fest into a laugh-out-loud critique of the text's more, shall we say, 'creative' moments.
But wait, there's more! If you enjoy the juxtaposition of ancient prophecies and modern-day musings, then you're in for a treat. We connect the dots between Ezekiel's end-of-days shenanigans and our own contemporary experiences, proving that some things, like bad decision-making and the consequences thereof, are timeless.

Ezekiel Chapter 6: Bible Study BY Atheists

Ezekiel Chapter 6: Bible Study BY Atheists

Strap in, non-believers and scripture enthusiasts alike, because in this eyebrow-raising episode of our blasphemously humorous podcast, we're dissecting the divine hissy fits of the Almighty as depicted in the wild ride that is Ezekiel Chapter 6. Your sacrilegious hosts—known for their devilishly sharp wit—are ready to escort you through the Biblical theme park of God's wrath, complete with idol demolition and a celestial temper tantrum that would make any toddler proud.
Dive headfirst into a discussion that’s less holy scripture and more divine roast as we unpack the not-so-subtle nuances of ancient Israel's high-altitude idolatry. We'll explore why God's threats of destruction sound less like omnipotent judgment and more like the aftermath of a heavenly kegger gone wrong. It's a no-holds-barred critique, where altars crumble, incense holders shatter, and the Almighty's own PR team would likely advise Him to take a chill pill.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any more sacrilegious, we'll ponder over the Bible's impact on pop culture, drawing lines from ancient texts to Tarantino's cult classic "Pulp Fiction." You’ll find out why the prophet Ezekiel might just be the original influencer of doom and gloom—and why we're absolutely here for it.
Don't miss the part where we discuss God’s weirdly specific fetish for smashing incense holders (does He have something against pleasant scents?) and Ezekiel’s bizarre hair prophecy (seriously, who needs a hairdresser when you've got a prophet with a divine blade?). It's an episode that promises to be as educational as it is irreverent, as enlightening as it is entertaining, and as snarky as it is... well, snarky.
And hey, if you've been teetering on the brink of becoming a patron of our heathen haven, this is your sign from the gods (or lack thereof). We’re on a divine mission to hit our Patreon goals and deliver even more ungodly content your way. Your support could be the difference between podcast purgatory and enlightenment.
So tune in, turn up the volume, and prepare for a scriptural smackdown that only the bravest of heretics could love. This is Ezekiel Chapter 6: God's Divine Tantrum & Idol Smashing Spree—where sacred landscapes meet sinful acts, and ancient prophecies get a modern makeover. Amen, and pass the popcorn.

    F*CK Angels (Patreon Teaser)

    F*CK Angels (Patreon Teaser)

Hold onto your halos, skeptics and scripture-skimmers! The latest episode of Sacrilegious Discourse is here, and we're taking a blasphemous bash at those so-called heavenly henchmen - angels. Yes, you read that right, it's time for "F*ck Angels," where we serve up a heaping portion of irreverence, topped with a side of cheeky insights.
In this divine roast session, we're not just winging it; we dive deep into the celestial bureaucracy of angelic beings with the gusto of a sinner at confession. We kick things off with a candid reminder of our Patreon-exclusive content, where we lure you with angels only to pull the rug out from under your feet with a curveball topic like Lamassu. Spoiler alert: they're not as fluffy as cherubs, and definitely more interesting.
From the holy hitmen of the Abrahamic traditions to the rank-and-file messenger boys, we dissect the angelic hierarchy with the precision of a theologian who's had one too many sacrilegious sips. Are these divine drones superior to humans or just sparkly strap-ons of the Almighty? We'll let you decide, but not before we take you through a linguistic journey that explores why so many angelic names end in 'el' and make you question whether you're listening to a podcast or attending a clandestine angelology seminar.
Ever heard of the Ophanim? No? Well, they're like God's personal UFOs, according to medieval scholar Maimonides, and we're here to break down the Top 10 Angelic Orders like it's a Billboard chart for heavenly creatures. And if that's not enough to ruffle your feathers, wait until we tackle the transformation of cherubs from badass biblical bouncers to diaper-clad toddlers of Renaissance art.
Don't expect harps and halos here; we're all about the nitty-gritty, the esoteric, and the downright weird. Whether it's drawing parallels between Assyrian deities and Ezekiel's trippy visions or calling out the psychopomp trope in pop culture, we're serving it with a side of snark. So if you're ready to laugh in the face of divinity and question everything you thought you knew about angels, tune in, subscribe, and prepare to have your celestial assumptions turned upside down.
This isn't your grandma's Sunday school lesson, folks. It's Sacrilegious Discourse's "F*ck Angels," where we make it our heavenly mission to entertain and enlighten you, one irreverent jab at a time.

Ezekiel Chapters 1 - 5 Q&A: Bible Study BY Atheists

Ezekiel Chapters 1 - 5 Q&A: Bible Study BY Atheists

Strap in, heathens and skeptics! It's time to deflate the divine blimps and mold the myths as we tackle the hallucinogenic haze that is Ezekiel Chapters 1-5. In this no-holds-barred Q&A session, your favorite irreverent hosts of Sacrilegious Discourse don't just read between the lines – they graffiti all over them.
Prepare for a celestial roast as we take aim at Ezekiel's prophetic credibility. Was he a true soothsayer, or just the ancient world's version of that guy who writes end-of-the-world predictions on sandwich boards? We're leaning towards the latter, and we've got the skeptical smackdown to prove it.
Our forensic faithlessness doesn't stop there. Remember that Patreon special on golems? Well, buckle up, because we're reanimating that discussion and adding a pinch of snark to the ancient myth of dirt-made dudes. We're dishing out a fresh perspective on why the notion of humans crafted from clay is less about divine inspiration and more about prehistoric play-doh sessions.
And let's not forget the cherubim, with their four faces and wheels within wheels – it's like someone spiked the Jerusalem water supply with LSD. Are they angelic symbols, tribal totems, or just proof that Ezekiel was the OG tripper? Our vote? Definitely the latter.
In our quest to understand these holy hallucinations, we're not just cross-referencing – we're cross-examining. From Judeo-Christian narratives to the myths that span continents, we're tearing down the walls of theological tradition to reveal the universal themes that link cultures in a shared, if slightly confused, origin story.
We wrap this episode with an exclusive invitation to our Patreon family, where you can access the secret lore of golems, and peek behind the curtain at our thoughts on angels – because who doesn't want more of our blasphemous banter?
Tune in, turn on, and drop out of faith as we deliver another episode of Sacrilegious Discourse, where we ask the hard questions like, "Was Ezekiel a prophet or just really, really high?" Join us as we sift through the sands of time, sweeping away the dusty dogma to reveal the bedrock of reality: it's all just ancient fanfiction, folks.
Prepare yourself for a rousing discussion as your favorite atheist double-act embark on a hilarious and pointed critique of the Bible's infamous Ezekiel Chapter 5. Brace yourselves for a narrative that weaves through the surreal and absurd world of biblical literalism, complete with arts and crafts and a hearty dose of divine sadism. Get ready to reimagine the familiar prophets as they navigate through a divine plotline that could very well pass for a dumpster fire. This is no vanilla Sunday School tale; rather, it's an exploration of a deity who seems to have missed the memo on anger management and chosen instead to abuse the smite button.

Ezekiel Chapter 5: Bible Study BY Atheists

Prepare yourself for a rousing discussion as your favorite atheist double-act embark on a hilarious and pointed critique of the Bible's infamous Ezekiel Chapter 5. Brace yourselves for a narrative that weaves through the surreal and absurd world of biblical literalism, complete with arts and crafts and a hearty dose of divine sadism. This is no vanilla Sunday School tale; rather, it's an exploration of a deity who seems to have missed the memo on anger management and chosen instead to abuse the smite button.
Join us as we skewer the Almighty's parenting abilities, which leave much to be desired. Through a lens of dry wit and relentless skepticism, we unpack a God who prefers wielding his power with questionable methods rather than taking the high road. And what better way to drive home his lessons than with a good old shave of a prophet's head with a sword? Because when it comes to divine commands, subtlety apparently doesn't cut it.
But that's not all. As we slice and dice our way through the moral quandaries and contradictions of this scripture, we do so with the precision of a barber's razor. After all, nothing encapsulates 'holiness' quite like the sight of a prophet going bald in the name of divine command. All the while, we are left questioning the very foundation of these religious teachings, which often end up more tangled than a prophet's unshaved hair.
So come along for this rollercoaster ride of biblical proportions, as we roast, toast and most importantly, question the Almighty and his peculiar methods. Who knows? You might just find that sometimes, the smell of divine commands can be worse than the stench of burnt hair.

Game girl 09 ,

Great podcast!!

Husband and Wife do a great job of making the bible not so boring. I have started reading the Bible several times, but always got too bored and annoyed to keep going. Wife’s reading and narration skills, including funny voices, keep me interested in what’s happening. Husband’s jokes are right on par with my sense of humor so I feel right at home. I also like the fact that they call out the garbage, hypocrisy, and unrealistic nonsense. (I mean a talking donkey, seriously, this book is clearly a fairytale) if Husband and Wife can make it though the whole Bible I will be right there with them until the end!

They make it fun

Wish they were around to help me slog through one of the worst small book groupings ever. So far. Deserves negative reviews.

Atheist bible study ripoff

Honestly,
Listen to atheist bible study. Much better. Not sure which one is ripping off the other one. But this one got annoying real quick. And the adds are insufferable.
